Overall UIET is a fine college and the teachers are also good the college management is not that great the environment is good.

AIEEE, i was able to get the required cut off marks in AIEEE and opted for UIET because i wanted to pursue engineering in IT. UIET is among the top colleges in Panjab and is a good institute. Being a part of Panjab University, there are many facilities that the students can use such as, swimming, open learning classes, music classes, sports, etc.

The course curriculum consists of many useful lessons and teachers try to use resources like projectors, labs, workshops, etc to implement what they teach. WiFi facility is available in all the hostels and college campus. Teaches give extra tutorial classes for doubts clarification and supplements like tests, assignments, projects, etc.

Internships are based upon the placements which occur during the 7th semester. General stipend is between Rs.8000- Rs.15000 per month. The stipend is given based on the performance of the student in the academic sessions and the interviews which are taken by the companies which recruit the students.

There are many companies that come to UIET. Most of them are core IT and CSE companies. The average package give to students is usually 3 lakh to 10 lakh per annum. This year (2015-16) the maximum package was around 20 lakh to a fellow batchmate.

There are many technical events and cultural fests which take place in UIET. Some of them are Aavishkar (The Annual Technical Fest of UIET), Goonj (The Techno Cultural Fest of UIET), Effi-Cycle(Event based on Green Technology).

Being a government institute, the fees structure is reasonable. The fees is usually between Rs. 20,000-Rs. 40,000. Compared to private institutes, this is vary less.Rs. 1000 is given each year for UTechnos. The administration is not up to the mark. It can be very hectic if you miss any fees or notice. Overall the fees structure is fine.

The college provides many scholarships to students who belong to military background, sports quota, or students whose family income is less.

The campus life is good the fests organised are fine and students from all over India come to participate in technical and cultural fests in the cultural fests celebraties are also invited by the authorities.

There are currently 9 hostels for girls and 8 hostels for boys all the hostels have high speed Wifi facility and most of the access to the internet is restricted by the Administration the hostel food is fine and the also have canteens.

There are many students who have passed out and still come back and share their experiences they give many useful workshops and classes on how to pursue your goals and how to excel in academics.

There are 2 Sessionals(30 marks each) and 1 Exam(50 marcks) in a semester the Sessionals occur usually in 1 months gap and the final emax occurs within 2 week after 2nd Sessional for the sessionals the best marks scored in by the student in the 2 sessiona
