ALL ABOUT JABALPUR ENGINEERING COLLEGE

I feel the curriculum is quite outdated as we are forced to study out of our domain subjects like engineering drawing , civil engineering , mechanical engineering, physics, etc. Which have no use in our domain (CSE). Some of the subjects like soft skills , English , and language lab are quite helpful in order to develop communication skills and for interviews.

The internships are provided in our college only after the completion of sixth semester. The internships offered are mostly for the project based jobs and web development. However there is a very slight chance that you may get an internship from college and hence it is advised to apply for internships off campus.

The placement cell allows for the placements at the end of 6th semester. Companies like TCS , Tech Mahindra, Infosys, IBM , HCL often visit in our college . In the year 2024 , 170 students got placed out of 220 offers. The highest package offered was 11LPA by IBM for the role of Software Developer Engineer 1 , and the average package was around 4 LPA . In the technical branches about 70 percent of the students got placed whereas in core branches , about 30percent of students got placed.

The fees is approx 33000 per year and scholarship are available like medhavi and some catagory scholarships also fees is very less for SC st students and financial support club is present in college which gives financial aid

Recently a techfest named "INERTIA" held in our college which provided a platform to many stand-up comedians , dancers , tech enthusiasts , singers , mime actors of our college. There is a vast collection of books available in our library . One can rent a book and also sit in the library to read books . There is a sports department in our college has a collection of volleyballs , cricket equipments and basketballs. You can play any of these sports in college campus. There are many clubs named as Ecell JEC, Danceon JEC , Karwaan , Literary club, JLUG, Matrix JEC. Out of all these clubs , I like the club karwaan as it offers education to children of government schools and they also visit to several ashrams frequently to donate things .

In the government hostel of Jabalpur Engineering College, the accommodation is of 100 students. You can get admission in the hostel after applying for it in college's hostel department . Seats of hostel are given on the basis of rank of each candidate . There is a fan , two switchboards, two charging sockets , one powerplug, two beds , one table , two almirahs in each room of hostel. The meal of each hostel depends on the Hostel's mess as they are private . Hostel number 5 mess is quite good among all boys hostels. If you want to rent a room you can either search rooms in Gokalpur , or in Ranjhi . The rent of rooms will be between 2200-3500rs.

I chose Jabalpur Engineering College over many other private colleges as it is government aided and quite affordable . Also , we can get Medhavi scholarship and hence education is free in these 4 years. I also applied for SGSITS and IET-DAVV but got a rejected due to insufficient score in JEE - MAINS. You can get admission directly by filling the MPDTE counselling and report to college to confirm your admission.

The faculty members of JEC are quite helpful , supportive , kind and encouraging and are eager to solve the doubts of students and guide them to the right path. The exams are held monthly and there are two mid semester exams followed by one end semester exams and then viva in each semester. The weightage of end semester exam is 70 marks.

There are two gyms nearby our college campus , many cafeterias which offer decent food, two libraries.All these are open upto 10pm and after that the nearby marketplace gets closed. The hostel Life is quite good as you live with 100 batchmates in a same building. Although there is a slight problem of water in our hostel but irrespective of that the hostel provides decent food. The campus is quite good. There is a lake named Robertson lake in our college campus where we hangout and outside the college campus we have placed like "Graduate Chai" , "Hotel Annam" where you can hangout with your friends.The college closes at 5pm and hence there is no nightlife inside college campus.
