Likes
- No strict rules are followed , people can give exams even they get P grades but they cannot hold any position of responsibility
- Semester is only for 4 months , will have 2 months semester holiday with hostel accomodation if required
- No curfew for students , entering and leaving campus is ease. At main part of chennai so feasible to phoneix mall, Velachery , Guindy , yaramani
Dislikes
- 4 months long semester holiday , profs are getting restricted amount of classes so they aren't able to teach at best
- AC is not available in 90% of classrooms .
- 2-3 events which u really need to attend happens at same time
Course Curriculum Overview
In B.tech , the course curriculum is reduced to a small amount in each and every semester. So profs even tell Us to study m.tech to learn deeper concepts As a first year student , i am not aware of course curriculum that much. Course curriculum is displayed in IIT madras website for reference.
Placement Experience
People at end of second year start to apply for internship, It is college with Highest package ever received in India 400lpa. People do intership at summer break after 6th sem and sit for placement exams in 7,8th sema. Placement team of IIT madras is vibrant community.pulls jobs with good pacakges

Campus Life
The annually conducted tech event is shaastra, cultural event - saarang , entrepreneurial event - Esummit. Held between Jan - feb (all) Finest library a college could have , too many books People could every face in any course they face in IIT madras. Smartboard , profs use slide . All classes are not ACed Profs still use black boards too. All the events mentioned above are student run, saarang is largest student run festival.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms do not have AC. 1/2/3 sharing rooms as per hostel Hostel are named as per rivers in India. Mess quality is good , people have choice to opt of North mess( veg, nonveg) , south mess ( veg, nonveg) And foodcourt. Menus are healthy enough to survive in this campus
Admission
I tried for this college and got it full heartedly. Basically it is NIRF 1 Near to my home , reach home weekends and try not to be homesicked. JEE mains is the first level of admission process. After that people clear JEE advanced , apply for jossaa Councelling. Both exams are compulsory, CRL 850 is closing rank of my department
Faculty
: 1400 students are there in total electrical engineering department ( inc pg ). 74 staffs are working in ee department. :I like muduli sir , bcoz he knows he can't teach every Thing in a flow ( exam deadlines) so he gives details in slides :no faculty i disliked about. : 3 exams for a particular course Quiz 1 - 20% Quiz 2- 20% End semester - 60% This is most followed but then profs have power to change exam systems If students attends it he will get grade . No pass or fail Grade points for course S 10 A 9 B 8 C 7 D 6
Night Life
Spots which are open 24/7 in institute are Quark - chill spot for club meetings NAC - same Ellora - same Front study row of departments Ajenda - AC reading hall Institute library is fully ACed , closes at 12am Hostel is 24/7 open . No curfew Phoneix mall , bessy beach , Velachery food spots are best.
