Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for BTech in computer science. Pursuing this course in my college has been a mix of theory and practical gaps. The syllabus includes the theoretical parts very much, but the major issue is, it's not always updated to match the current trends in the industry. Some subjects feel outdated while the others seem to lack depth in modern technology, and some of them are really very theoretical and in my opinion Not needed. There are lab sessions, but they often focus on bookish knowledge rather than real world. Applications. Hands on projects are very limited and students have to often rely on self and learning online courses to gain practical knowledge. If you want an internship, then you have to apply for it on your own accord. The college does not support you in this. Most of the learning here is theory and less focus on problems solving and critical thinking skills which are very important in today's world.

Placement Experience

3

The placement in my college has not been very great. Also, as we all know with the current recession placements have been tough throughout the country. Very few companies are hiring and the ones that do are offering lower packages compared to previous years. There are fewer companies visiting the college for placements, and they offer very low package. Many students are struggling to secure core jobs because of this, and are now shifting to off campus, job hunting or higher studies after completing their graduation. The average package from what I noticed is 3,00,000 to 4,00,000 per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees that I paid for the last two years was 1,15,000 per year. Also since the college is affiliated by AKTU, It requires us to pay ?7500 every year for appearing for the exams. I did not qualify or applied for scholarships, but there are scholarships available for students belonging from low income families, or cast reservations. They can apply for scholarship from the college w

Campus Life

4

My overall college experience was pretty decent and it has been a mix of good and not a great moments. The campus had decent wives and there were enough things to do, but personally I struggled to fit in at first, I could not get along with the crowd because they had a different vibe, and my interest did not align with them, so socialising wasn't easy in the beginning. I used to hang out alone during the whole first year, but then things changed when I joined societies. I became a part of many clubs, but I loved being a part of the MUSIC club and the Art club in our college. I met people who shared the same hobbies and passions as me which made a huge difference in my college life as a whole. I love hanging out with these people, and then I finally started enjoying my time here in college.

Admission

When I was picking a college for me, it was not just about the syllabus. It was about the experience I would have during these four years. The major reason why I selected this college was the events and extracurricular it has. in my college. There are many cultural nights and events that you could participate in from tech fest to cultural festivals. The college has a vibrant event seen whether you are into coding competitions or you have creative interests or performing arts like dance, battles, music, or start up incubators, there's always something happening in my college. You could build network, learn new things and have fun throughout your college life

Faculty

3

my honest take on my college faculty is that the faculty is not as qualified as expected, unfortunately. Many professors lack in death, subject knowledge, and real-world experience, which makes it difficult to get clear explanations. They sometimes learn the topics themselves a night before taking the lecture and do not clearly explain the topic well. This leads to many confusion amongst the students. The professors could not even clear the doubts raised by the student sometimes. This leads to the students losing their interest in subjects, and thus students start skipping classes and learn on their own. And when this happens, the HOD and professor start to scold the students for not attending classes or maintaining their attendance, but there is no use in attending classes if teachers are not teaching well.

Night Life

3

the night life in an around my college has a mixed experience. There are a few cafes and food joints that stay open throughout the night and you can go there late night for study sessions or midnight cravings or just chilling out with friends, but the options are very limited. Most of the gyms and public spaces have reasonable timings. You can still go for late workout sessions or evening bøokst, but if you like working out past, midnight, then options are very less. Most hostels lock their gates by 9 PM, which can be frustrating if you want to stay out late night, but they can be flexible sometimes if you talk to them for particular reasons One of the biggest downsides of my locality is that it isn't very safe at night. Walking around alone in the night isn't recommended and you won't find many people outside past a certain hour. But if you do plan to stay out, it's best to stick with your friend groups and only visit known areas

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
