Course Curriculum Overview

1

The facultry pretty much teach only what is relevant to the curriculum, which is useless by my opinion. What should be learned about the coruse according to it's importance outside our exams is far from what is beaing taught. The curriculum is good but the only things focused are what is important to gain marks in exams.

Placement Experience

1

In btech 4th year students start getting placed in jobs. But the placement rates are considerably decreasing every year because the expectations of the employers are increasing rapidly nowadays and the students are not able to meet those. Mostly I blame the incompetence of students, indifference and carelessness of the teachers in guiding us towards what should be done in order to be a better engineer.

Fees and Financial Aid

I get a scholarship of 34k yearrly . All the expenses are included in this. This is directly sent to the college treasury. Scholarahips are not given to OC classes and students who came from global category. Other than this we don't have Scholarships or fanancial aids available up to my knowledge.

Campus Life

2

The management couldn't care less about students when it came to students socailaizing among each other. From the start students took initiatives in conductinf social events. In fact management cancelled our freshers event because of some incident caused by some group of boys who shoudk have known better than to do something so silly. I'm pretty much convinced that the management only cares just about being praised in a segment of the last page of a newspaper for doing something they are *supposed to do. But students have been taking care of Conducting events ever since I've been here. Coming to sports out of 8k students in which more than 50 percent are girls , only a handful participate in sports.

Hostel Facilities

1

The rooms which are built for an accommodation of 4 member are being allocated to 6 members, same with 2 membered rooms allocated to 3 members. Most of the bathrooms are clogged, it is difficult to find a proper bathroom in early mornings. The water from the sinks directly flood on to the floor. Girls hostel do not have a proper facility for the dispose of sanitary products.

Admission

I chose this college because it is a golden opportunity for someone who can't afford higher studies. I don't have to pay the fee beacuse it is covered by my scholarship provided by TG. I didn't apply to sny other colleges beacuse i couldn't afford them. This college takes in students by their gpa from SSC exams. But at the time of corona they took in students by polytechnic score, so i guess I'm lucky for that.

Faculty

1

The faculty student ratio is low. In fact most of the courses don't start until the middle the semester. We usually have 3 mid term exams havind a score of 15 for each in which the best two are taken for a total of 30 marks for mid terms. 10 for assignement and 60 for end semester exams. Most of the courses which do not have faculty either have exams conducted without a proper teaching i.e they allot a teacher for a week who completes a 4 week syllabus in 1 week. Or they conducr these mid term exams 1 and 2 at the same time. My most favorite professor is Madhusudhan sir who was my maths professor and also Sujatha mam who taught us physics in my second year of Pre University Course. The worst faculty would 50 percent of the other faculty who I've encountered so far. Just because we are studying for free here beacuse of our inability to afford a decent college made them believe that they are entitled to belittle us whenever they seem fit. One of the recent incidents that i encountered was with a female teacher who used to teach IT, she warned me not to wear jeans, which is a pretty common attire nowadays. This was also the case with other girls with the same teacher. Coming to courses, what they tesch is totally different from what they expect us to learn. We don't have proper guidance regarding our learning curriculum.

Night Life

1

As an RGUKT student if someone fron outside asked me abiut my nightlife in here, i would've laughed ib their faces. In the first week of my RGUKT life i was pretty traumatized by the way most of the people here tearted students. Nobody is suppossd to hangout EVEN IN MORNINGS . We used to have a canteen but that was closed after our strike against the management for better faculty and facilities. Since our strike so many basic things like canteen was closed, parents visting hours have decreased, outpass system getting more and more strict and many other things were used as punishments .
