College culture & introduction

Positive point is that the college is highly ranked with good faculties. College atmosphere and the campus is very good with lots of greenery. A big cricket ground is also there in the campus.

All engineering courses are held in the university. Computer science and engineering (CSE) is the most favorite branch among students. I'm in the electrical branch. 1st year for all branches are common with same subjects. A perfect engineering course is offered by the university.

As the interview and job opportunity perspective, Nirma University is at the 3rd rank in the Gujarat. Amazon, musigma, Semiconducting material companies, IT companies, motor companies and so more come to our college every year. Average package is not as expected by the students. It's 4 to 5 lakhs for electrical department. After the end of the 3rd year, all should have to do internship. It'll be either paid or non-paid. University have contacts with companies for internships.

There are many technical and non-technical events happen in our college. For non-technical events, different types of clubs are there like Rotaract Club of Nirma University, Augen IL² etc. For technical events, EESA, MESA group s are also there. NU-Tech is the biggest technical event of the University.

Fees are the expensive as compare to other colleges of Gujarat. College ranks at the 2nd most expensive fees in Gujarat. For year 2018 freshers, fees were 1,91,000 annual. Hostel fees are not included in it.

MYSY scholarship I get every year from the government of Gujarat. By that, I get 50,000? annual for college fees, 12000? annual for hostel fees, 5000? once for books. College scholarships are also available, but you can take any of one scholarships.

Lots of extracurricular activities done by non-technical clubs of the University. Cricket, Chess, Badminton tournaments are also arranged. Labs are good with equipment. We can work on our personal project also in the labs by just taking permission from professor.

University has not hostel facility for B.Tech students. Hostel is available only for M.Tech students. So, I live in a private hostel called Hiramani Hostel which is the nearest hostel from the college.

We do everything on our base. We don't depend on seniors every time. But we have contacts with the seniors. They are always ready to help us whenever we need their help. We also take old books from them in half of the price.

By getting good score in 11-12th Gujarat board (90 merit) and 87.5 marks in GUJCET, I secured 1218 rank in Gujarat. So, I got the admission in the first round of ACAC process. 50% of the students are selected from the Gujarat (through ACAC process), 35% from all India (through JEE), 15% NRIs.

Almost every faculty is good experienced and have high qualification as students' expectations. Some faculties are not such good, but by reviewing to the HOD, we can modify our faculty also, that's a good thing. Some faculties are so friendly to students that students love to learn from them.
