The college brings the best in any student. You will get yourself changed during the whole tenure (4-5 years). There are always some bad and good things in everything so is in this college. But if you seek an opportunity then you will make best out of everything. The most amazing thing in the college is the LIBRARY (fully air conditioned and having facility of digital library). The environment and greenery is of course the best. And also BUS FACILITY is available which romes in the college campus from area to area during specific hours.

Course Curriculum is quite the same in all of the NITs and so is in SVNIT. For the first year the subjects are common for all the branches of engineering and then changes take place from second year onwards. All sorts of subjects are taught during first year like mechanical, civil, electrical, computer, electronics etc. There is sem wise system in this college. And in every 6 months the subjects change. Talking about the exam structure then for each semester there is one mid sem and an end sem including practicals. Internal tests, tutorials and assignments are also there whose marks are added in the final result. One week before the end sem practical and viva are been taken by the faculty. End sem exam consists of 50 marks (passing 15) , mid sem of 30 marks (passing 12), and in total for passing you should get a minimum of 36 marks (out of 100 probably) for each of the subject

College provides excellent placements and opportunities. Many companies recruit students from all branches. Core, non-core all types of companies come for this process. The first criteria for placement is minimum 7 cgpa. 3 rounds take place in placement process which are aptitude test, GD round and the final interview round. Placements for job take place in final year from 7th sem. Also internship placements for 3rd year take place from college itself. College provides NOC for pursuing internship. College also provides internship in research areas under some professors which provide stipend too. I have a less idea of stipend being provided. But a certificate is for sure given after successful completion.

College has never ending list of activities. The major events happening during the entire year is one the freshers party (Abhinandan in the year 2018) for first year (BTech, MTech, PhD, MSC). And the biggest cultural and technical fest in Gujarat is SPARSH which consists of four days and three nights. Techincal, school events take place in days and in three nights- Singing night, Dancing night and celebrity night take place. Events never end. A sports fest also takes place which is IGNIS (colleges from every corner participate in this event).Every club of the college conducts events during the entire year. There are more than 20 clubs which constist of cultural clubs, branch focussing clubs, language clubs, techincal clubs and many more. The first event of the college is conducted by HINDI CELL during September. events like WOW, SPANDAN, SYNCRONIZE, SYMPHONY, UNPLUGGED, SHAMIYANA happen which are cultural events (dance, music, art, poetry, drama etc.). Inter year sports event also occur. Festival celebrations are also done in the college like Independence Day, Republic Day, Janmasthmi, Lori, holi, Ram-Navmi etc. Hostels also celebrate their own events like sports day, hostel day etc. The college also has a team of NCC made NSS members.

Fee structure is quite feasible. Being a govt. college the facility for fee remission is provided for SC/ST/PWD students and also for those who have family income less than 5 lac p.a. Certain documents are to be submitted for this particular procedure.

Some scholarships are available in the college that you can get awared about by seniors or faculty. Book Loan is also available from which books at quite a cheap rate are made available. Fee remission is also there as told earlier.

Extracurricular activities keep happening in the college and thus removes boredom from your academic life. Teaching Classes are schedule from 8:30-12:30. And labs are scheduled from 2-6 according to your year and branch. Sports facility are also provided. INTER-NIT takes place for which teams are been made for all the sports (volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, TT, cricket etc.). If you really have a talent in any of the co-curricular activity then college provides the best platform for all of them. You can join the club of your interest and showcase your talent which would then be recognized.

There are 13 hostels in the college of one which is girls hostel. The best food is made in the girls hostel (Mother Teresa Bhavan). The boys hostel are made year wise. Infrastructure is good of all the hostels. Facilities like TV room, mess, TT, badminton (volleyball, basketball etc. for boys), internet connectivity. Cycles are allowed to be kept in the hostels. A for a safety purpose a leave form is to be filled by the student in case he leaves the hostel for going home or to local gaurdians place. Hostel Management Committee is made for looking into various problems and solutions for the hostel.

The alumni network is quite strong and the most helpful thing in the college is actually the seniors. They can deal with every problem of yours and come out with best solutions be it academic, personal, internship, hostel related or any other. The seniors guide even after you graduate. Having good contacts in the college can help you get the maximum opportunities for everything (cultural, sports etc.). Seniors help you through each up and down. They can get you books if you need any entrance material if you want and many more.

Being an NIT certain admission process is to be followed for getting enrolled in this college. Firstly you have to give the entrance exam which is JEE MAINS. If you fulfill the criteria for selection then counselling process starts which is done by JOSAA. In this in the beginning preferences are to be filled since JEE MAINS makes it possible for admission in NITS, IIITs and GFTIs. Counselling process consists of 7 rounds in which seat allocation is done according to your rank in JEE MAINS. Once you get a seat in any of the round you have to go to nearest NIT for the procedure and seat confirmation. Options like Freeze, Float, Slide are available for seat allocation in the counselling. There is a major benefit in this college which is:- even if you don't get the best branch here which you always wanted but have a will to study hard and get good CGPA then BRANCH CHANGE option is available here.

Faculty is always helpful in one way or the other. It's you who could take best of the knowledge from them. Faculties are quite regular in the lectures. Every sort of faculty is available. Some teach through presentations, some on blackboard. They refer the best books for study and mostly you don't require to purchase them. Either get them from seniors, library or get it photocopied. Some faculties are exceptionally good in all ways be it helping in academics, social or personal. There is a benefit in college about taking charge of faculty which is through the feed back form. At the end of each semester a feed back form is filled for each subject and practical where you can give remark for every question asked. Attendance is very necessary in college. Criteria is 75%.
