If you want a multi faceted academic college experience, Xavier's is the one.

I chose finance specialization and the coursework for finance is very much relevant, even if you go abroad. The subjects taught and the curriculum include all recent relevant topics in the field. I would like a few more finance-related subjects. I think if you are in touch with your studies, you can easily score well on your exams.

I personally never applied from the college portal, but I have seen mostly business internships, such as marketing and finance internships. There are some content writing, media internships as well. Usually, they are paid from the office. Companies like Deloitte, DE Shaw, EY, Grant Thornton, Accenture come here with internships, and a lot of local firms as well.

You can join the placement cell in your first year itself as there are internship opportunities listed for 1st and 2nd year students. Only from your final year, you are allowed to sit for the full time job opportunities. The highest package was 22LPA, and lowest was 3.5LPA. Companies like Deloitte, TCS, PwC, Wells Fargo, swiggy, cognizant, ICICI bank, etc came to our campus. I have gotten a placement from the cell and will be joining after completing my degree.

I paid around 65000-90000 each semester. Each semester, the tuition fee is INR 16200, the development fee is INR 18000, the additional fee is INR 31200, and other fees depend on the semester. We pay the fees in two installments. I did not receive any scholarship as they do not promote the scholarship but I have heard you can receive a scholarship if you are in need.

There are a lot of very active clubs who keep organizing various events and functions and you will never find the camplus quiet. Xavotsav is the most famous inter college fest and there is also GOONJ which is an intra college fest. There is an annual sports day by the sports department. The library has a range of books on all topics and there are also paid e-resources, newsletters that you can access from the library.

I also got into Sri Shikshayatan College before I got the Xavier's confirmation, and ultimately chose Xavier's. The Xavier's brand tag carries prestige in the market, especially in the commerce field, and hence my choice was clear. For BMS, I had to give an entrance test, which combined with my 12th marks, gave me my final score. Both of them hold equal weightage. The cutoffs are usually above 90%.

My course is a bit unique, so we have a bad student-to-teacher ratio specifically for my year. It's around 140:1. Some professors are very friendly, while some are just disinterested in meeting outside the classroom. Be careful in approaching professors, as there was a young male professor who acted inappropriately with students, but the authorities didn't do anything. There are two main exams, mid-terms, which is just for a fraction of the total marks, and the main one end seems which is for the majority of the marks. Our attendance and presentation skills are added to the final marks.

St. Xavier's is in Park Street, so it has a bustling nightlife. Around the campus, you can find restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs, food stalls, everything. The library opens from morning till 5 pm. Since it is always busy and is well-connected, it is quite safe to roam about at night. BMS is an evening departmen,t so I safely come at night well beyond 9 pm every day. There are some very good food stalls around the college where students eat during breaks.
