My first year at college

Fees is extremely high and bad thing is that it's continuously increasing. No swimming pool , no auditorium makes student feel bad. College is very strict in terms of punishment. Placement of mechanical branch is poor.

This college follows same structure as that of IIT Kanpur. After 2 months of semester starting we have our mid semester exams (which usually have 30% weightage ) and at the end of semester we have our end semester exams ( which usually have 50% weightage) and in between we have 2 quizzes which carries 20% weightage. The weightage of exams can be changed by professors also.

Placement and job opportunities in Computer science field is great but in remaining fields of mechanical and ECE placements aren't that great. Director is trying his best to increase placement and average salary of students. I have just completed my first year so I can't tell much about internship and stipend.

We have 3 big fests in our college usually in last days of January and first few days of February. Tech fest name is Plinth, sports fest is Desportivos ,which is also the largest sports fest in Rajasthan, and the main cultural fest is Vivacity. Apart from fests all festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm in college and events like Torque, Quiz competition, MUN also happens in college.

Fee structure ahh. This college is quite expensive. Fee is approximately 380000 per year which is very much for middle class family and Director will continue to increase this already very high fees to develop college. As the college is running in deficit and due to lack of funding by Mr. L.N. Mittal director have no option but to increase fees.

Scholarships are given to meritorious students who scored exceptionally in exams. College by itself doesn't provide any loan facilities. You have to take students loan from bank itself. In this field college situation is very poor.

College doesn't have auditorium and swimming pool. It have football field, cricket ground, 2 basketball courts, badminton courts, squash court, volleyball court, good jogging track, gym is not that good but it's manageable.

Senior - junior relationship is something you can't tell in words. Seniors help a lot. They will tell you about college culture, how to live, survive in college. Alumni help a lot. They come to college to interact with us and guide us through our college life.

College grants admission on the basis of JEE Mains marks and rank. You have to fill the application form and according and pay a provisional fee and after the counseling begins branch according to your marks will be given to you. On the further rounds of counseling you can have a upgrade in your branch if your JEE marks allows you. If you are satisfied with the branch you get you have to pay the rest of the fees or you can opt out of counseling and get refund of the provisional fee that you have paid.

Faculty is good. Some faculty have a great academic background but those who take tutorial classes usually are not that good. Regular feedback process is done of faculties so that administration can listen to the problems students are facing and try to solve them.
