Faculty
My experience with the faculty at my college has been a mix of challenges and positives, largely influenced by the high student-to-teacher ratio of 70:1. This ratio means that each teacher is responsible for a large number of students, which sometimes makes it difficult to get individual attention or personalized guidance. Despite this, I have been fortunate to learn from Laxmi Ma’am, my mathematics teacher, who is by far my favorite faculty member. She has a remarkable ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a simple and engaging manner. Her patience and willingness to help students, even outside regular class hours, make her stand out. She is approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in her students’ success, which is rare in such a crowded academic environment. The exam system at my college is known for being very strict. There are clear rules and regulations during exams, and any form of malpractice is taken very seriously. While this strictness sometimes adds to the pressure, it also ensures that the evaluation process is fair and unbiased. The marking scheme is transparent, and everyone is graded solely on their performance, without any favoritism. This fairness motivates students to study sincerely and rewards hard work and genuine understanding of the subject. Overall, while the high student-to-teacher ratio can be a drawback, the presence of dedicated teachers like Laxmi Ma’am makes a significant difference. The strict and fair exam system upholds academic integrity and ensures that everyone is judged on their merit. I appreciate the commitment of some faculty members and the transparent evaluation process, though I wish there were more opportunities for individual interaction and mentorship.
