My College

Positive : * Famous institution and has a reputation. * Experienced faculties. * No strict rules. * Good placements. * Excellent lab facilities. Negative : * Arrogant staff (not all) * Away from the city. * Unnecessary fees.

The course curriculum is not at its best to be honest. It's not updated for years. Regarding the exams, two semesters are held per year. Each semester involves both internal and external marks. Internal marks are calculated by the marks we secure in Cumulative AAssesment Test (CAT) and daily assignments. CAT is conducted twice per semester. Final exams are held at the end of the semester. Grade is calculated as 50% CAT marks + 50% Final exam marks. And the GPA is given accordingly.

The placement opportunities in my college are a top notch. Excellent placements truly. Students who are updated and acknowledged can easily get placed with high packages. Many multinational companies visit usually.

Events are conducted regularly but not celebrated. Events conducted here are not very interesting. They conduct it for reputation's sake, in my opinion. College does not wish to spend more money on events. No celebration for Christmas and other festivals. Symposia are conducted by the departments in the College and interestingly the students spend money to conduct them. Concluding, no fat-events.

The fee structure for DOTE students are not that much high. Students coming through management quota have to pay more than DOTE students. Our college collects extra fees of ?10000 every year for placement training classes.

I don't avail scholarship as I'm not eligible. There are few eligibility criteria to avail scholarship. Scholarship is provided for those whose family income is less than ?200000 per annum. College provides scholarship for students who get high grades.

Labs are really old but good. Many labs for my department like Electric machines, Measurement & Instrumentation, Electric circuit analysis are present. For IT and CSE students, the labs have outdated computers.

The buildings are really old. One cannot expect cleanliness in my hostel. The rooms are not spacious. WiFi is provided and the connection speed is good. Mess food is average. Bathrooms are average too. Bathrooms are cleaned thrice a week.

Alumni in my college are great people. They are very connected to us and they're concerned about the College activities. They are very helpful. Seniors in my college are also friendly people. No ragging is done here.

I got admission in my college through government counselling. The process involves acquiring cumulative marks of Mathematics (50%) + Physics (25%) + Chemistry (25%) and based on the merit list in the state, the seats are alloted.

Many faculties are highly experienced and intelligent. They have keen knowledge on their subjects. And sadly many are not. They do not possess high knowledge. Some of them don't even care to explain many concepts. Some professors are cold hearted and would fail you if you're not nice to them.
