Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course curriculum as average. It follows the VTU structure with a 50-50 ratio for internal and external marks. I chose this course mainly because of the AI and ML subjects offered in later semesters. Teaching is mostly theory-based with PPTs and very few practical sessions. Exams include 3 internals and 1 final per semester, with moderate difficulty but strict evaluation. To improve, the curriculum should include more industry projects, coding practice, and current tech tools to better prepare students for real careers.

Placement Experience

1

The placement scenario in our college is not very good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, but the average package is quite low, starting at around 2 LPA, with very few companies visiting the campus and overall placement percentage is very low, hardly 20% to 30%

Fees and Financial Aid

Acharya Institute of Technology Fee Structure Based on Admission Mode (for 2024–25) 1.KCET: 80,000 per year; total for 4 years – 3,20,000 (State quota, lowest fee). 2.COMEDK: 2,60,000 per year; total for 4 years – 10,40,000 (For students outside Karnataka). 3.Management Quota: 4,40,000 per year (from 2025 onwards); total for 4 years – 17,60,000. (Earlier it was 3,30,000 till 2024 For Management quota, the tuition fee has increased from 3.3L (up to 2024) to 4.4L from 2025 onwards.

Campus Life

3

The annual festival, Odyssey, and the technical fest, Technovation, are average at best, lacking proper organization and engagement. The library is poorly stocked with limited access to relevant books and journals. Classroom facilities are outdated, with minimal technological provisions, making it difficult to have an interactive learning experience. There are some student-run clubs, but they have little impact and lack proper management or events.

Admission

I got COMEDK rank (12K), but I unknowingly opted for Acharya Institute of Technology in the 1st round without proper research. It was a mistake. I had also considered colleges like CMRIT and BMSIT etc. Admission was through COMEDK, which accepts students based on their entrance exam ranks.

Faculty

2

The faculty at Acharya Institute of Technology is average. Most of them teach using only PPTs. Faculty-student interaction is minimal and most are not very approachable. The syllabus is under VTU with a 50-50 ratio (internal and external). Exams include 3 internal tests and 1 external exam. Passing requires 40 out of 100 (with at least 35 in externals).

Night Life

3

Nightlife around Acharya Institute of Technology is average, similar to other colleges. The gym, cafeterias, library, and public areas close early, limiting options for late-night activities. Hostels also have strict curfews, reducing freedom for students to unwind after classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like to solve coding problems and also real-time problems using machine learning. Faculties are good they are free to communicate with students. The teaching method was like using PPTs they will explain the topics so the students can understand easily. Exam we have two internals and one final exam per sem. That externals are very difficult compared to the internals they will be given inside the syllabus only for passing it will be easy but scoring was difficult.
