I applied to best tier 1 clg like iit bombay, delhi, knapur etc bcz my iit jee rank was not that good so i could not get there and after that in preference i chose to this clg , bcz of its course success and also was in my home town. Yes i got rejection from top tier clgs like top iits and top nits bcz my jee rank was not good enough.
