Best college of AKTU

Positive: The college gives no pressure to the students. The teachers are very lenient. Every student prepares for gate/ies/ias examinations. There is a lot of time to the students to focus on the government examinations. Negative: Not sufficient placement in the core branches.

There are several courses of civil engineering here out of which different number of subjects including department electives and open electives. There are two internals within each semester. The end semester exams are conducted in the month of May and December. IET is an autonomous institute so the semester papers are made by the college itself and not from AKTU.

Currently there is 100% placements of computer science and IT and electronics department. Core branches like Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical have less placements due to less jobs in private sector and students are preparing for government jobs.

The college has a lots of events going throughout the year. Starting with the branch fests in the starting of the year and following on there are events like sports fest Shauryotsava and annual cultural fest Encore and technical fest Parakram.

The fee structure is very feasible. At my time the fees of first year was 53825. Later on the fees was increased. But students are given up scholarships so the fees turns out to be very nominal and affordable. The mess fees per semester is 17000 rs.

There is Vijaya Bank in the campus which provide educational loans on a very nominal interests rates. Beside this UP Govt Scholarships are provided of rs 64400 to the eligible students. The faculties are very helpful in providing the loans.

Currently there is replacements of laboratories going on. The labs are now very good with lots of expensive and big instruments. There is a gym which is closed because no student goes there everyone gives preference to the outside gyms. Sports complex with international facilities are under construction.

Hostels are very nice and food is also good.There is separate hostel for first year boys students named Ramanujam and second year students name Aryabhatta. There are five blocks for the third year and final year students naming from A to E blocks. Girls hostels are separate.

As a civil engineer i find my alumni very helpful. They tell us about the latest softwares of construction purpose. They also keep up updated about the latest vacancies and jobs. They give recommendation for the students in different companies.

I appeared for UPSEE 2015 which is an objective entrance exam for admission in the state colleges of Uttar Pradesh and scored AIR general rank of 424. On the basis of rank i was allotted Civil Engineering branch of B.Tech here.

The faculty of this college is superbly talented and have a high enthusiasm in teaching. The department of Civil Engineering have the most number of permanent professors. Extra classes for detailed teaching is taken by the guest faculties providing lots of practical knowledge.
