Course Curriculum Overview

3

I would rate it a solid 8.5/10 for relevance and comprehensiveness of the course. The main aspect that made me choose is my keen intrest on accounting. The curriculum is pretty mid for a real world applications because they have very less of practical techniques and methods. A practical approach including industrial visits will really improve the course value. The frequency of exam is pretty moderate and timings of exams is also avereage as for CIA's(1 hour 45 mins) and for sem exams (3 hours).

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship companies like Wipro,TCS ( Tata consultancy) and cognizant have offered internships for my course. These campanies select students based on their coding skills. They offer stipend around 10000 to 20000.

Placement Experience

4

The placements in sastra is immaculate they have nothing to complaint of .Students from my course given placement training and eligible for placements from third year. Large scale of campanies have visited. some of them will be Tata consultancy(TCs), Paypal, federal banks ,Infosys etc. The highest package was 90000 per month and average package was 25000 per month. Students who have 8.5 cgpa or more will have pretty good offer from reputed companies. Plans after getting my degree is to do masters in abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

First year i paid around 1,42,000 which includes 45,000 per each sem, bus fee for a year was 22,000 , admission fee of 10,000 and for a first of bcom we had jk shah coaching for chattered accountant which cost around 20,000. For my upcoming years it will be 1,12,000 (inclusive of bus fees)for each year. Scholarships are available for students who scored more than 95% to 97%. The fees for have been tremendously increasing compared to my passed out seniors(2025) having a difference around 40000 per year.

Campus Life

3

My overall experience with sastra is balance of good and bad . The main tech festive is called Daksh it includes international participants too. The library in sastra is massive with wide range of books. The classrooms are pretty normal with enough ventilation. For sports there is alot of different courts available like basketball, volleyball, badminton etc within campus. Different clubs avaliable which works after collage hours that is after 5.15 pm which makes difficult for day scholar students to participate.

Admission

The reason i choose this college because of the really good placements available in it. The different between the college i applied for and sastra will be Reputation: In my surroundings sastra have a great goodwill and Reputation compared to other colleges. Placements: sastra provide wide range of placements and opportunities while other colleges have limited options. Academic: sastra provide a great faculty , other diploma to add on which adds great value and research opportunities. I applied for sastra and srm in trichy, i got selected in both the colleges but i choose sastra Over srm. I choose sastra because of it's quality education. No, i did not get rejected for the colleges i applied for. Admission process start with first registration in sastra offical website then they will send email for the selected students for counselling where you have to pay the sem fees (45000) and the admission fees(10000) through demand draft or online banking. The prefer students who have mark percentage above 80.

Faculty

3

The faulty to student ratio is pretty well balanced. The faculty are very friendly and knowledgeable very easy to approach but there is also few exceptions faculties. The faculty of accounting and finance are the best faculty .the reason is they intreract with students alot while teaching and one of the best friendly faculty in my department. The faculty of computing they are little to strict and rough with students. There are totally 6 sems in my course and exam structure for each sem is 3 CIA (cumulative internal Assessment) and a semester exam. 5 to 10 students will fail the exams . The course curriculum is well relevant .

Night Life

4

Collage campus is 10/10. There are lot of place to hangout like canteens mainly two named Krishna cafe and southern canopy which have open seatings. Fun hangout will the open gym and also there is alot of benches in campus under tree shades where you can sit and relax. The collage starts at 8.45 am and ends at 5.15 pm , lunch break differs but it will be for an hour sometimes it's around 12 pm to 1 pm or 1 pm to 2 pm. Just outside the campus there is pretty good amount of food shops avaliable to hangout.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect will be accounting that made me choose this couse. The curriculum made me to prepare for future accounting field works and knowledge around the field. The improvements that I suggest may is to add more relevent real life job experience in subject books itself. As per me who is one of a topper student in my college, The difficulty is moderate to me and timing of exams are more enough to fill all the questions.

Placement Experience:

In MCC there is placement but it's not 100% placement, only 10 to 20 from a class of 60 gets placed, so when it comes to placement it's upto to you and your skills. Normaly the placement enrollment starts at beginning of your 5th semester or end of your fourth semester, you can opt for placement or higher study. The highest package was from Standard Chartered & Deloitte it was 6 Lakhs CTC. Accenture, TCS and some well known companies will participate in placement drive. The average package will be Rs.3.5 Lakhs CTS. I'm planning to go for higher studies while doing a part time job after getting degree.
