My life at MBM University Jodhpur - Rajasthan No.1 State Government Engineering College

As Electrical enginnering is one of the toughest branch worldwide, I also feel the same but it also have many future opportunies. The curriculum of our college is very old but makes us industry ready at the end of the degree. The course could be more inclined towards practical applications in modern life. Exams are taken at a frequency of every 1-2 months, namely; mid term exams, practicals and end sem exams. The exams are way difficult if you didn't studied for them. There are also some students every year who score good in GATE Examination.

There are a lot of internship opportunies in our college as the specific department in the college help students to apply for internships in good companies. Specially the Training and Placement Office (TPO) guide the students that how to get a good internship with the refferal of the college itself. If I take about myself, I want to do a internship at JMRC (Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation) after completing my 4th semester as few of my seniors already doing their internship in it. But for taking a good internship you have to maintain your CGPA above 7 CGPA.

From 7th semester we are eligible for the campus placements as the students. But student have to mantain 7.5+ CGPA to take part in the campus placements. In my own department (electrical engineering), 47 students are placed out of 60 students in 2024 batch. In 2024, the highest package of my branch is 13 LPA, the average package is 8.1 LPA and the median package is of 6.8 LPA. Almost 80%+ students are getting placed in my branch. My plans after completing my degree is to become a Assistant Engineer in government departments.

As of now the semester fee is 21000 rupees per semester or we can say 42000 rupees per year of my course in the college. And other than tution fee, there is exam form fee of 1500 rupees. As it is an state government college, the fee will not raise easily, it will take years to increase with a slow rate. If we talk about scholarships, there a lot of scholarships provideds by alumni association and other NGOs. In my case I have got a scholarship of Rupees 10000 in my 1st year and the scholarship name is Sumedha Scholarship, If you are a girl candidate than the chances of getting scholarship is higher.

There are almost no fest since past two years, why this is happening I don't even know. Our college library have a lot of useful stuff i.e. books, research paper copies etc. The facilities in the classrooms and labs are very average as no luxuries facilities are available. Sports are promoted in our college as a specific weak is designed for the sports named as "Khelo MBM" in which many students participated in different sports. The are many clubs present in the college which are runned and managed by the students, some of the clubs are Sargam, Zenith, Alankaar, Pratibimb etc.

The hostel rooms are very average as a chair, a table and a bed is provided to you. Also there are tripple sharing rooms for 1st year students. The hostel campus is not so big and it is old.The mess food is just edible not so good and three times a day the meal is provided. The registration process is very simple and the yearly fee for hostel and mess is around 47000 rupees. Also there are many PGs and rooms around the college as few of my friend stay in them. You can take according to your preference.

I have prepare for JEE Examination but when i didn't get any IIT or NIT by my JEE score then I decided to get admission in MBM University Jodhpur, and it is my best decision as it has a very less fee structure than other private colleges, also it provide a lot of values with this degree. For the admission in my college, students have to fill REAP Counselling and choose this college and iths branches at priorty in the list. If you over 90 percentile in JEE Mains then definitely you can get good branches in this college.

The faculty to student ratio of our college is of 1:30. The faculties are well educated and well qualified as many of them have master gegree or a phd degree, they helps the students in every possible way. Mukesh Vyas Sir is one of the humble nature teacher, I have ever meet. As he helped me a lot at the physics lab in the experiments.While Amit Meena sir has once behaved very rude with me in my Machine Drawing Practical in first semester. There are two mid terms exam, practicals and the end sem exam in every semester. Almost 80% students qualify end sem exams.

There is a college gym which is active in morning and evening, the timing are 4 AM to 9 AM and 5 PM to 9PM. There is a college library which is opened from 10 AM to 5PM. There are many public cafeterias around the college campus. There is gate closing timing at night for 1st year students and all girls students, for 1st year boys the timing is 10 PM and for all the girls students it is 7PM. The locality around our college is definitely safe. The famous spot outside the college campus is Ganesh Temple where all students often visit.
