Negative: The Department lacks somewhere in the Infrastructure, as in the number of class rooms are less and there’s no proper parking for students. Positive: If you make it to UILS, than I don’t think so u’ll ever regret for anything such is the atmosphere and the ambience and that is the reason why a student even forgets about the lack of infrastructure of the department.

I personally feel that the course curriculum is pretty on Point. As in as far as our BA LLB(Hons.) Course is concerned, it’s a 5year Integrated Course and throughout the 10semesters we are supposed to study 6subjects in each semester; in which for the first 3years 3 are Law subjects while other 3 are Graduation subjects and in the last 2 years i.e 4th and 5th year all 6 subjects are Law subjects only. About Exam Structure: It’s a (60+40) marks structure, where 60 is for theoretical exams while the remaining 40 marks are for practical exam which includes Presentation, Project and a short test.

We have a Placement Cell in our department, which has never failed in Placing all the students who get their names with them and to in the renowned Firms of India as well as MNC’s; and the packages for the same vary but they are not less than 6Lakhs/p.a. Yes, the department do provide with the internships, write from the very first year and for the same we have a committee where a student just need to give his name to that is to the Career Development Cell Society and a student can give his preferences for his internship also. Rest in 5th year the department provides for Compulsory Internship in the Punjab and Haryana High Court which is without stipend.

There are various events organised throughout the year which includes both Legal and Cultural fest. Under Legal Fest: we have Moots, Client Counselling and ADR competitions. We two have a Reserach paper presentation for the same we have a collaboration with a University of Canada. Cultural Fest includes Dance, Singing, Acting etc.

I’ll say it’s in between Feasible and Expensive; as in as the department is not completely funded by the Central Government so the department having no other option has to charge about ?50,000 each every semester to cope up with the expenses.

As such there’s no scholarship as all the students who have been admitted to this institution has made through an entrance exam, so as such there’s no relief on the fee structure but yeah as per the constitution the Reserved Category is charged just half the admission fee as compared to a student admitted under General Category.

As far as Labs are concerned for a course like Law; Moot Court hall is all we do actually require and the department has a well Furnished Moot Court Hall. And with respect to co-curricular activities and Sports, we have a well equipped sports complex in the Panjab university.

Yea, the alumni’s are very much helpful in suggesting the subjects and the books to be referred. Not only during the course but even after passing out they are of great help throughout. And the best thing is that the department has An Alumni cell which arranges an Alumni meet every year due which we interact with them and gain more and more knowledge from their experience.

First we are supposed to sit for an entrance exam(CET)after class 12th, once the result is out than, the Final rank is calculated after adding 50% of both class 12th and entrance exam. And than if u get the Top Ranks than one can make into this prestigious institution

All our Professors and Teachers have plethora of knowledge not only of the subject they are masters of but also about all other subjects. Moreover all the professors their are readily available to help the students irrespective of time and busy schedule.
