My Days in Charuchandra College

My college life was the best time of my life. I miss every bit of it. I miss the Mathematics department and specially Suman Sir's guidance. The college life helped me to learn a lot of things about life. I'm proud of my college.

The college is under 1+1+1 system of University of Calcutta. Each year you need to appear in examination. You can enroll in Honours or in Pass Course depending upon your choice. University of Calcutta prepares the question paper for the examination.

College has a career counseling cell that helps students to decide their career opportunities. The cell is supervised by Dr Suman Dutta of mathematics department. Any student can avail the opportunity to discuss career possibilities in any stream.

There are so many events happed in my college life. We celebrate the birth anniversary of Ramanujan every year and participating in the program for the first time was really a great experience for me.

It's feasible for most of the cases. Many poor students study in our college and I never heard of anything like students denying to appear in the examination due to the fees being unpaid. Even if someone fails to arrange the fees, students' union is there to short things out.

Scholarship is obviously there for meritorious students. Even the teachers help poor students financially. If a student is having any kind of financial difficulties, he/she can contact the students' union. They are always ready to help.

College Sports team is the best sports team in University of Calcutta. Specially the football team is our pride. We have won many trophies in inter college tournaments. Labs are decent enough with helpful lab attendants.

No. I didn't opted for hostel. Infrastructure is decent enough and resembles typical British era. The building isn't new. The classrooms are large. It's basically a four storey building. Other facilities like adequate lighting is there.

Yes. They are helpful of course. Specifically I would like to mention about Suman sir. He is not only a teacher but also a mentor who is there to help you out in any situation. Senior students are also very helpful.

Admission process is simple enough. It's basically done via merit list of higher secondary examination marks. The selection is fair enough. You can easily get a chance to study in our college if you score decent marks in HS Examination.

Faculty of mathematics department is one of the best you can get under any college of University of Calcutta. All teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. Other departments such as English and Zoology is regarded as among the best in the university.
