Course Curriculum Overview

4

My father chose Law for me and he was influenced from the general mass that was opting law at that time. The curriculum of law is arbitrary, it is very far from how courts work and operate, the real life experince is hardly taught and the real courts and law can only be understood through internships and practice. There should be real practicing lawyer teaching the working of courts at least once a week or twice a month to prepare the students for what they are going to face in courts and companies. The exams were Moderate in difficulty.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee I paid for my 5 year law programme was Rs. 76400. The Academic fee was Rs. 63,400 and Rs.1000 for Student activity and Rs.12,000 for University Examination The fees was similar for all categories. There was no student that availed scholarship in my batch.

Campus Life

3

There used to Annual Fest called Zenith. It was average festival and unknown bands and musicians used to come there. SInce the college has no campus so it used to be held in a small college area. The Library was well stacked with legal books and daily newspapers and each semester books were issued to us by the college only. There was projector in every class and the class was taught through PPTs. There were activitise like LAN gaming and Table tennis, Chess, etc. were conducted every semester, activities like treasure hunt and Gas-less cooking were also there. The overall experience was average due to limited college space. I was a part of Nukkad Natak and it created awareness among the college and outside college as well.

Admission

I was planning for National Law University but couldn't qualify so I ended up in GGSIPU, it was the next best choice as I am based in Delhi . Law is a very expensive profession to study and the course offered by GGSIPU colleges were realtively cheaper and at the end of the day is the degree that is approved by Bar Council of India that matters. I had friends in NLUs and they were getting good internships just because of the NLU tag. For the admission of my college one has to sit for Common Enterance Test(CET), one has to be completed his/her 12th Standard. There are more than 10 colleges that give BALLB degree in GGSIPU and the entrace to each college is merit based.

Faculty

4

1:60 was the faculty to student ratio, the faculty and student relationshop was approachable and friendly but the staff used to change after every semester and the faculty that was not even good used to stay for an entire semster even though their teachings and methods were not effective. My favourite faculty was Ms. Rashi Gupta who taught us COntract, and Civil Law and she was so methodical and practical, every lesson I took with her was memorable and helpful. The exams were not difficult and every thing that was on the syllabus was taught to us and nothing out of syllabus came in exams.

Night Life

1

There is no gym and canteen food was unhealthy and the taste was below average. The college timing was 9 to 6. The locality of the college is very safe as it is built very close to Rohini District Court and many colleges were there too so there was good amount of students around. There was no night life in college.

Good placements and this is really important as our college is one of the recognised college as well. Placements cell does the majority of the work to ensure that students or rather maximum students are placed from our campus. Placements of other IPU colleges are buried but not ours. 4-6 lakhs packages are a mix here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The law department's faculty members are highly qualified, and their teaching methods are commendable. They are extremely hardworking, and they go out of their way to give us a lot of exposure by taking us to the supreme court, high court, Dwarka district court, parliament, and other places. They frequently have several sessions with honorable justices from various courts. Our teachers put in a lot of effort and try their hardest to keep our standards to NLUs when it comes to organizing MUNS to national moot court competition.
