Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course at MSIT is decent and quite balanced. In the first year most subjects are common with other branches like maths physics and basic coding so it feels more like building a base. From second year onwards we start getting proper IT subjects like data structures DBMS and networks which finally feels connected to the branch. The curriculum is good enough for placements an Exams are a mix of two sessionals and one end sem so you can’t just study last moment since internals matter. The overall difficulty is moderate and if you are regular with classes it’s not tough to score.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internships at MSIT are honestly more about your own hustle than the college spoon feeding you opportunities. The IT Cell and placement cell do try by giving summer training, sharing AICTE portal links, and holding resume or interview sessions. Placements though are pretty solid regular companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture visit every year, and sometimes big names like Amazon come in pool drives. Average package sits around 6–8 LPA

Placement Experience

3

Placements at MSIT usually start from 3rd year onwards when companies begin visiting the campus. The major recruiters are companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and a few product-based ones as well. From the latest stats, the highest package touched around 50 LPA while the average package is somewhere around 6–7 LPA depending on the branch and skills. A good percentage of students, almost 80–85%, end up getting placed if they are seriously preparing.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fees increases every year. i got admission in 2024 at that time i paid like 1,73,000 lakh rupees. Now i'm in my second year and i paid 1,63,100. The fees is quite high for its services. There is no particular notice to fees to calculate a full ug fees. they get updated and increase every year, obviously seniors pay less every year. Tution fee for (2025-26) was 1,39,500. Registeration happens through ipu site where which i paid 2000 last year, while university dues are 20,000. In addition, there are examination charges of 3,000, innovation & incubation charges of 500, and a group insurance fee of 100. Altogether, the total annual fee comes to 1,63,100 (for 2nd year). The payment was made through net banking, has to be by cheque or DD at the time of admission. Could be upi too but it has alot of failure. There is no concession for sc/st/obc in fees. They have to look for scholarship. There are no scholarship from college side as per my knowledge.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at MSIT is honestly a mix of good and average. The main highlight is the fests Enva (cultural fest) and Avensis (technical fest) both usually around Jan–Feb. That’s when the whole college actually feels alive, you’ll see proper crowds, stalls, events, performances, everything. Apart from that, the library here is honestly one of the best things, almost every book is available and it’s a good spot if you actually wanna sit and study in peace. Classrooms are just okay some have AC, some don’t, projectors are there but nothing too fancy. Labs are decently equipped, you’ll find all the machines and tools, but the guidance from faculty isn’t that great so you end up figuring out stuff on your own or through friends. Same with extracurriculars, nothing official from college, but if you join a club or society (like IEEE, E-Cell, music, dance, drama etc.) then you’ll get involved and actually have fun.

Admission

I chose MSIT mainly because it is one of the better colleges under IPU and has a good reputation for placements and campus environment. During admission I applied for a few other IPU colleges as well but MSIT stood out because of its ranking and the fact that seniors also suggested it as one of the top choices after USICT. The admission process at MSIT is through IPU CET/JEE counselling. Once you get allotted MSIT in counselling, you have to report to the college with a long list of documents for verification. Honestly, it feels a bit hectic because they ask for almost everything JEE admit card, JEE result, registration slip, allotment letter, academic fee receipt, balance fee receipt, 10th and 12th marksheets, character certificate, caste certificate, medical certificate, and even multiple photographs. They also make you and your parents sign undertakings like anti-ragging and attendance. You have to bring two sets of documents, one for GGSIPU and one for MSIT I Applied for CIC DU (IT-MI) But Couldn't Quality As My Cuet Score Was Not So Good.

Faculty

5

The faculty is good, they are helpful. I found really nice people in 1st year in terms of teachers. They were helpful and non judgemental. The faculty to student ratio is around 1:60. The student-faculty relation is chill for most aspects. if you study well in class and practice even 1 hour at home you can excel those easily. there are no backlog exams happened yet for my session so we dont know how many fail to clear. Course curriculum felt relevant from 2nd year. 1st year was a mess full of pcm subjects it was awful. At MSIT, the marking scheme for B.Tech IT is divided between internal assessments and the final university exam each semester. As a student, you’ll have two sessional (mid-term) exams in every semester, along with a few quizzes, assignments, and class tests that add to your internal marks. These internals usually carry around 20–30% weightage, so if you stay consistent here, you can build a safe cushion for the final exam. The real bulk of marks, about 70–80%, comes from the end-term university examination, which is the main deciding factor for your grade.

Night Life

5

Campus nightlife at MSIT? Bro, honestly it’s kinda meh. There’s no real gym technically one exists, but it’s basically broken or just for show. Even if it works, no one’s really into it, so it's just there. The cafeteria got demolished recently, and they’re building a new one right now, but till that’s done, food options inside are super limited. The library only stays open during college hours sometimes till 4 pm so it's not like you can hang there after classes.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
