Course Curriculum Overview

1

I felt that entire curriculum needs to be changed, since there are many useless subjects that are irrevalant to software engineering in CSE. I also felt subjects like c,c++, java needs to be replaced with python and web development subject should be replaced with something like nextjs. Initially I thought the syllabus and curriculum was good untill 3rd year of my Btech degree. The curriculum of jntuh is outdated in terms of real world. Teaching methods are ok though it needs minor improvements in some areas. The frequency of exams is same, you get semester exams and supply exams , you will have more chances to clear you backlogs, my advice is to clear backlogs in same year or try not getting any backlogs in engineering. timing of exams is usually after every 6 months out of which we usually have 180 or more working classes days. And in between we get sundays, holidays, events and other things. Semester exams are difficult especially subjects like mathematics or electronic subjects like ADE, which is irrelavant to CS.

Fees and Financial Aid

College fee strcture is ~70,000 rupees per year, if you have a scholarship like postmetric scholarship , you can pay half amount and other half will be paid by state government. SC/ST students and gurukul students get full scholarship, It means total college fee is paid by state government. Management seat students can pay at start of batch with full amount or just pay yearly fee of 70,000. Semester exam fees are separate you can pay at college or online / jntuh. Most of my classmates were management seat students. You can mostly get convenor seat for a EAMCET rank under 80,000 or so, for ECET you need to get a rank below 5000. College fee might fluctuate with batches or branch, because new courses like M.Sc and CSE AI/ML are being introduced in college, when I was graduating , college got autonomous status. So it's natural for college to demand for more fee. For getting a admission you should allotment order and necessary supporting documents. for management seat you need SSC and class XII , TC, bonafide, etc.

Campus Life

4

The overall experience with campus life is good, there were no clubs in this college , however we regularly had events like bathukamma , art day, etc. Some events were too boring and sadly we never had freshers party or fest for my batch, we didn't even had a graduation cermony as well. we celebrated signature day in this college, that was the only event which was worth mentioning. Books and journals were plenty , everything was available in library, but no one uses them since the books were outdated and as usual in this tech era, no one reads a textbook. facilities were good, we had enough computers equipped with internet in college. sports and extracurricular activities were also conducted regularly. we do have a college website and my fellow classmates did tweaked some of the things in website development.

Admission

I applied to very few colleges in the first place, most of them are nearby my surrounding towns/cities , I applied to SVSC as well, but first preference was JPNC , because at that time , I honestly have no idea about engineering and my father forced me to join here. I felt this college needs much improvement in terms about curriculum and subjects. I applied for this college hoping to get placed, which didn't happen. Admission process of this college is pretty much simple and no tests or eligibilty is needed, just get allotment order or get college seat under management quota. However you need to get a rank below 80,000 in order to get into this college, and overall admission process is pretty much same as other colleges.

Faculty

3

Firstly, faculty-to-student ratio is good. There were plenty of staff to teach all subjects. And teachers were approachable and lenient. Teachers explained concepts well, even though the subjects were completely useless since they are too outdated. I felt java and computer networking, COA, OS and other subjects like C/C++ were taught much better than other subjects. These subjects teachers were the best faculties with plenty of experience. We usually had two mid-exams in a semester, one at start and one at end of semester and as usual , semester exams. mid exams were relevant to semester exams , even though semester exams are tougher than mids. Many students fail in semester exams like M2, EG and BEE exams. jntuh is tougher compared to other institutions, backlogs in these affiliated universities are common. cse course is relavant to what you need , but still kinda useless.

Night Life

1

Nightlife is one thing I never experienced in college, because as everyone there is a day scholar , everyone will be left to their homes during the evening. my favorite place was stairs connecting to rooftop, you can see whole campus from there. There were no hostels in our college, many students either travel by college bus, public transport or personal veichles. some students live in private hostels in town. It's not safe to roam around at night in college , since it's far from crowd and some animals roam around there at night.
