My college

The college management is just good. This college is important for freedom. Not much strict, somehow lenient, making you decision independent and make you stand in your own leg. It is going great in all the activities like academics, attitude development, arts development, sports development, extracurricular activities as well.

In our college, as it's first importance is academic-oriented frequently many class tests are being conducted. Two internals and one model exam are held mandatory as per rules of the Madras University. Our college ensures job assurity and provides placements. The courses offered here are profession driven. It helps me a lot to become a better professional.

The placement of our college is going good. Many popular companies had come forward to recruit our outstanding students as their employees. Campus interview is conducted for final year students every year. Placement provided by some companies namely SUTHERLAND, MPOWER YOUNG INDIA, INFOSYS, TCS, VERTEX, NIT DATA, GODREJ, OTTO PRIVATE LTD etc.

There are various events being conducted in our college, namely The famous MGC Fiesta, Orientation day, Fresher's day, Onam celebration, The Great Mar Gregorious day and last but not the least, many frequent department activities as well.

I have chosen B.COM general in Mar Gregorious college. The fees for each semester is 19,000 only and for other courses, it's around the same fee structure only. But in the first semester, I have to play along with the admission fees, it was 7,000. And overall I had to pay 45,000 for 1st year. Except for this academic fees, no other fees were included. If you need to join some sports or art classes there are separate fees to be paid.

As it was a Christianity college, Christianity students with S.C. caste are given scholarships every year. You can also apply for an educational loan with your Board Exam mark sheet as a security to the nearest Bank where these facilities are made available.

Our college is coed. Both boys and girls are treated equally in all activities i.e, academics, sports, arts, extracurricular activities as well. Good toilet facilities are available in every corridor nearby for both boys and girls. Separate canteen facilities are provided to boys and girls, separate stairs for boys and girls. Competitions are held regularly irrespective of gender. Many inter-college competitions are also being conducted.

Our college seniors had taught us many things about academics, sports as well. They brought out our confidence, helped us when we seek them. We too helped them back financially and they had shared their college experience as well which helped us a lot. It was great that there was no ragging in our college.

I had applied for B.COM in Mar Gregorious college, as possessed more than 80% in 12th Board Exam, I had got admission in Shift-I. If you had scored less than 65% in 12th Board Exam then you will be admitted into Shift-II only. The admissions started immediately after the date of release of results of 12th Board Exam. If you don't have any idea what course to choose, counselling is also provided.

Our faculty in our college is better qualified enough to teach us something new every day. They will be teaching enthusiastically if we co-operate with them. They have produced good results every year through their skills. Likewise other colleges they will torture you to score you, but they will recommend not to get arrears. They are too good at developing our attitude.
