Internships Opportunities
My internship experience was very good. I interned in a business planning role where I performed competition analysis and benchmarking, financial modelling and go-to-market strategy. The stipend offered ranges from Rs. 30K to Rs. 2 lakhs. A lot of companies come for hiring for internships ranging from consults to banks to FMCGs to conglomerates.
Placement Experience
I witnessed the placements of my senior batch. The placements went smoothly and everybody was placed. The details of which companies came and what they offered can be viewed in our college website.
College Events
There are two festivals held in my college- Intaglio and Carpe dium. Intaglio is the business festival and Carpe dium is the cultural festival and both witness huge footfall and participation from students across the country.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure seems expensive with the fees during my admission being Rs. 16.2 lakhs. But there is easy access to education loans at just 10% interest rate and with the salary received after passing out one can easily pay the loan in a matter of 2-3 years after starting to work.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers Need Based Financial Assistance to those having annual family income less than Rs. 6 lakhs. Apart from that, SBI, CBI and UBI offer educations loan at around 10% interest rate.

The campus is located in the Joka area of Kolkata and hence is popularly known asJoka campus. Ask any IIMCian and everyone will tell you this - "Joka is not a place, it's an experience".The campus life is very enriching through a mix of academics, co-curricular activities, extra-curricular activities, sports and light parties at certain occasions. The gender ratio is 1:3 boys to girls. There are more than 15 clubs which gives every student ample opportunity to explore his interest/hobby.
Hostel Facilities
Every student gets a room of his own in the hostel. There are a total of four hostels with each hostel having its own mess. The food is good and will cost around Rs. 4,5000 monthly.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very helpful and are willing to take time out of their busy schedule to help the juniors for their summer internship placements or academics. There is a very healthy interactinon between juniors and seniors (first years and second years) as the room allocation is done such that there is a mix of both in every hostel wing. Alumni keep visiting campus from time to ime to interact with the students. Theey also help in bringing firms during placements.
Exam Structure
There will be quizzes of different subjects happening frequently so you will feel hectic initially but slowly it gets habitual and you learn to manage you time accordingly. But at IIM Calcutta it is still relatively less hectic as compared to other manage
