Remarks

There is an over all sense of freedom that we can feel. They are no much restrictions that we are entitled to. Being a Central government institutions gives us an upper hand of interstate contacts and cultural exchanges and travel.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

As per my experience the course curriculum is very light and student friendly but insufficient in the part of amount of information it gives. An year is divided into 2 semesters and in Each semester we got to give 2 internal examinations which is added for 40% of the total marks and and an external end semester examination which accounts for 60% of the total marks in a semester.

Placement Experience

1

This is a comparatively a new university and they don't provide any placements as of now. There is a compelsary internship of 2 months in the 6th semester which should be done in other universities or research institutions on students own risk. The university management won't help in providing any internship to the students.

College Events

3.5

We celebrate a ten day arts and sports cultural event every year and we have meetings and conferences happening all around the year organised by different schools of the university. There are interdepartmental competitions and cultural programs and debates conducted through the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The over fee structure is highly subsidised as it's a government institution and students under reserved categories are given concessions and cuts in the fees which is of great good. Over all the fees is feasible ignoring the consistent changes made in the fee structure every semester

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as my knowledge the top five students of each class are given 100 % free ship where they get their tuition fees of the whole semester reembersed to their respective bank accounts. We can avail loan from Canara bank which is situated in the campus itself which comes with a meagre interest.

Campus Life

4

Lab facilities are provided for science stream courses. The ground and all its sports subsidiaries should get an update as they are still in developing stage. The university administration is a failure in meeting the sports aspirations of students as coaching and sports gear facilities are not provided.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel infrastructure is decent one room is shared by 3 student and each id them are provide with seperate table , chairs and wardrobs. The toilet are on sharing basis and are often seen very unhygenic. The hostel administration is seen completely ignorant in repairing the broken pipes and cleaning the urinals which results in over all high valnarability to diseases in the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Because of its young age of establishment the alumini association is not that strong but the present alumnus are of great help and most of them are doing their farther studies or are working. The university should do their part in continuously networking and consulting the alumni for they can be the biggest help for the future of ongoing students.

Admission

The admission is purely on merit. There is an entrance examination called Central University Common Entrance Test which consist of 2 parts. The first part comprises of English language, reasoning, data interpretations/numerical ability, general awareness and analytical skills and the second part goes to sciences.Anyway only few courses asks score for both the parts for my integrated course topics of part 1 was only necessary.

Faculty

2.5

All the faculty are highly qualified. All of them are either PhD holders or PhD scholars. But the insufficiency of faculties and contract changes in mid semesters result in portions lagging behind and the students are rushed behind the targets.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
