Agriculture student of SKUAST-K.

The practical nature of this course dragged me to choose this course. The course is well designed to solve the every day's problem. The practical portion should be enhanced more to inculcate practical knowledge. In a year 4 exams are conducted at an interval of 3 months.

There are various internship opportunities in private sector such as qul fruits and ohher agrochemical and processing industries Student in their 2nd last semester have to do RAWE program in which every single student is allotted with farmer and he have to aolve the problem of that farmer along with gathering of information from that farmer, for this program every student is paid 21000.

Fee for a year is 55,600 in which Registration fee is 20,000 Tution fee 10000 Lab fee 5000 Exam fee 3000 Tour fee 5000 And other charges 12000 The above fee structure is for government seat but for self finance seat the fee is double of above mentioned fee structure College based scholarship is also available for top 10 students of every batch.

There are various events that are conducted by college as well as students some of them are VC sports week Inter faculty cricket tournament Tours and picnic to different locations etc You will get almost every book related to agriculture in hhe library. Class rooms are well ventilated and equipped with smart boards, projector and wifi. There are various sports events are conducted such as cricket, foot ball, kabaddi, table tennis etc

Hostel facility is not upto mark as the rooms are very congested with three students in a room sometime 4 students. However the meal quality is good and also there is seperate space for veg and nog veg meal. Hostel registration is done along with admission and the hostel is affordable. There is not much facilities available for Pg.

I didn't applied for any other college my first and last choice was this college and i got it. For admission in this college : If you are residing in J&K you have to give UET Ug exam which is conducted by SKUAST-K and after that you will get admission on merit base. If you are not residing in J&K then you can come through ICAR counselling after clearing CUET Ug exam. Cut off is high so prepare well.

The faculty members are well educated and experienced and also they are very friendly nd can be approached easily. I like the faculties of genetics division most but didn't dislike any other faculties. There are two exam in one semester among that one i.e internal is conducted by college i e paper set by college, while the other one is conducted by other college i.e paper set by other college. Exam is medium maximum student pass the exam without any difficulty.

Well maintained gym is available, cafeteria for 24/7, library and study room is also available, bank facility inside college campus is available. The hostel in timing is before 9Pm and for day boarders the campus in timing is 7am. There are various places for hangout as this college is spread on 1800 kanal and outside college you can enjoy the beauty of Kashmir valley such as bungus valley , Gulmarg etc
