- The library in my college offers so many opportunities with latest books being updated every quarter.
- My college has the biggest cricket playground which can accommodate any sporting events even attracting multiple national level games, audience exposing us to different universities.
Dislikes
- Recently they started to expand by constructing more building across the college which is decreasing the good ambiance the college had.
- There are less chances of having a Freshers or Farewell parties. As I am now in my Final Year, I feel nostalgic and want to have some final good moments with my batchmates but no official encouragement is being received from College.
- The bus facility offered by my college is only restricted to the first 3 years of my college. The Fourth year students have no proper means to travel to the college except to rely on the public transportation.
Course Curriculum Overview
-I would rate the entire course curriculum a solid 3/5. -We have to consider that my batch is the second batch to be launched under the Artifical Intelligence/Machine Learning department under CSE. -So the course is very theoretical in nature. We have to study a lot of books and gained so much knowledge but are unable to implement practically what we are learning. -If they have implemented practical knowledge into out ideology, we would have been able to present our college on various platforms. -My choice in choosing this course has been influenced around the time when AI has been put on a pedestal and everyone has started using it. It can clearly be seen as part of the future as every company has been adapting this new technology and looking to import people who could serve this knowledge. -My experience has shown me that real world is more practical with median range, so needed to learn a lot more as I am going to leave the college in a few months. -Practical implementation is very much needed for the students by the college to survive in the current IT industry or in the present world. -The mid-exams are conducted twice every semester, and the semesters are conducted twice every year. -The difficulty is level is answerable for most of the students.
Internships Opportunities
-There have been various internal internshio opportunities offered through college. -They are not exactly a typical internship but they are COHORT internships supported by AICTE internships approval which provide certifications to add to yout resume and linkedin. -It has goverment approval as well which adds to the authenticity of the internship and a good information piece for students while studying in the college. -The other IT companies which have offered internships to my college students throughout its offers are Infosys, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Capgemini, Cognizant among various other companies. -These companies often extended a PPO(Pre-Plcement Offers) for those students who were offered internships from the same company and also provided stipend to those students. -The projects are based on various important domains like Web Development, Artificial Intelligence, where all professors are highly encouragive for anyone trying to pursue such important leaps. -The outcome of the tasks is highly dependent on the projects each individual chooses to take as it is a very personal choice. -This year, to my latest knowledge, around 150 women were selected for System Engineer role which gives good hopes.
Placement Experience
-The placements are decreasing year by year, from the the time I joined the placements have vastly decreased and some companies have also stopped coming due to their pool period. -Students are eligible form 6th semester but for my juniors the management is avaling it from 5th semester only. -The componies visited are: INFOSYS COGNIZANT JUSPAY Till now many college might follow. -Highest package is 21lpa which is offered by INFOSYS for specialist programmer. -The number of offer made are around 200 upon my latest knowledge. -Upon my latest knowledge around 60% of students are bring placed through placements. -I am already placed in INFOSYS which is a girls pool selection held in kakinada Aditya University around a month ago. -If no campus placement is offered, some students are currently trying for off-campus jobs across various platforms like linkedin and other official sites, and some students are thinking of pursuing M.Tech for higheer degree in other universities.
Fees and Financial Aid
-My yearly fees is 69,700 INR. Every semester I have to pay 34850 INR. -I have Reimbursement scholarship from my government - Andhra Pradesh. -My government has paid for 1 and half year only, now I am in my final year. -But for each semester excluding the yearly fees i have to pay atleast 10,000 INR for CRT and VAC, also included other exam fees as well. -Every year I have to pay 5000 INR includes building fees and University fees. -I am studing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for which my fees is 69,700 INR per year. -My other batchmates across other departments like EEE, MECH,ECE, CIVIL, other core branches of CSE will be paying various amounts based on their selection of their department and extra course which they can opt to study. -Government of Andhra Pradesh has promised its student to provide scholarship for all the students who are under the eligibility criteria of the Scholarship under Reimbursement Tuition Fee (RTF) -Based on different caste systems, the scholarship has been deposited across various timelines into their respective bank accounts linked to according to the Government rules. -For my caste students(BCB), the scholarship has been deposited into my mother's bank account every 3 months : 4 quarters across the entire year which is 17,425 INR per quarter. -While coming to the other minority caste (SC, ST), the fee structure from the Government is different. It only had 2 quarters. The Government also covered other facilities like Hostels, Laptops in some cases. -For my junior batchmates, it is going to increase every year as per the latest news from my college. -In this way, the college fee structure is divided and varied across all the different departments and various students based on the Government scholarships to different caste people.
Campus Life
-I preferred college as once in a life time oppurtunity, and from the beginning i participated in all the activites conducted in college. -They conduct different Hackathons and Hackfests purely based on coding and capability on how well we can solve a problem like IEEE conducted 24 hour HACKAVERSE in college. -There are 2 library overall which have multiple books, and keep updating every 3months, with advanced knowledge. -The facilities in college in provided with the comfort based on students and technology is purely based on theoratical knowledge. -The campus provides and supports all the sports like cricket,throw-ball,tug-of-war which includes both male and female -There are multiple groups also refers different companies like Google,HackerRank also act as the Campus Ambassador representing all the companies around the campuses.
Admission
-I chose Raghu college 4 years ago at 2022 in AI/ML field. I have also applied for other collges like Gayathri, ANITS, Vignan for other departments but chose this college as my main focus was on course availability, placements, faculty, location and overall environment. -I applied to other colleges also like Gayatri Vidya Parishad (Gayathri), ANITS, and Vignan, but mostly for other departments, not AI/ML. At that time, AI/ML was a new and upcoming field, and Raghu College was offering a dedicated AI/ML branch, which was a big reason for me to choose it. --While comparing to other various colleges, I chose Rahu because it has the following: -Raghu College had a separate AI/ML department, which many colleges didn’t have that time. -Faculty were supportive and ready to guide us. -Campus infrastructure was good and labs were available for AI/ML. -Other colleges like Gayathri and ANITS are also good, but either the cutoffs were higher or AI/ML seat availability was limited. Vignan was an option, but I personally felt Raghu was better in terms of exposure and opportunities. -I didn’t get confirmed admission in some colleges mainly because of cutoff issues and seat availability. -Also, since I was aiming for AI/ML, options were limited in 2022. -Some colleges preferred CSE or ECE, and AI/ML was not well established everywhere. So nothing went wrong as such, it was just competition and limited seats. -The admission process was that I passed 10+2 (Intermediate) with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry -Mainly AP EAMCET was accepted. -Some seats are also available through management quota -AP EAMCET is the most common and preferred exam by students -Cutoff depends on category and branch. -The admission process was clear, staff explained everything.
Faculty
-The faculty in my college is very good. Everyone is very well educated with various Phds under every faculty. -All faculty is very supportive encouraging every student to follow their passion. -Their encouragement is throughout the board encouraging us to not only study but to participate and win in various college activities. -For every 5 months, we have a semester with exams conduted day-by-day during the semester. -Every semester has 5 subjects with 2 external and internal labs varying across to the juniors as there is now some changes to their courses. -The mark scheme is out of 100 marks. The semester exam will be written for 70 marks. The rest of the 30 marks are accumulated from my mid-exams. -These mid-exams are conducted twice every semester for which 80% of the maximum marks + 20% of the minimum marks will be added as part of the rest of the 30 marks. -The faculty-to-student ratio is approcimately 1:25 which is fine as the professors are readily available for any student. -I liked SivaSankari madam due to her supportive nature. -I disliked Nagesh sir as he shows care in a tough manner which is very scary. -We have a good pass percentage with a pass-to-fail ratio of 9:1. The professors are very good and encouraging and will choose to help the students in need.
Interview Experience
-To join an Engineering college in Andhra Pradesh we need to write an exam called EAMCET which is conducted every year. -Every college has a certain criteria to get placed or get a seat in that particular college. -I have written EAMCET which contains three main subject which are Maths,Physics and Chemistry also known as MPC. -In EAMCET there are three sections, each contains 60 marks representing the subjects. -There is no particular qualifing marks for each section, it is completely based on overall marks and required criteria to get a seat in you preferred college. -I got a 56.9786 marks for which I have recieved a rank of 33,348. -Based upon my rank, my caste and my gender i got placed in Raghu Engineering College which is the i wished for actually as it got better placements. -The choice of your department also depends on the rank you got in EAMCET. -The lesser the rank, the better chances we have to get into our desired college and desired departments. -So,to answer all your questions, therer is no group discussions or interview to get admission into the college. You only need to write the EAMCET exam as i described above and get a good rank.
Night Life
-I have participated in IEEE, Hackverse which is a 24 hour Hackvest which included a beatiful coding round and had a wonderful camp-fire, which represents all the glow of a students life. -My favourite hangout spot is canteen, where the laughter, food and friends all include in one moment, it includes all the moments which are the most favourite and least favourite. -Late night activities is The crackers during my once in a life time fest. -Students hangout with each other in canteen after a long day of class, which i also major part of and enjoyed very much. -Yes, we have Park, Canteen, Library but no gym, cafeteria. -Hostel timigs are 7am to 7pm, and every month they have 2 outings. -The locality is not safe to roam around at night as it is attached to highway. Since it is highway we do not have major hangout spots outside the college except some restaurants like Bawarchi, Kamat restaurants.
