Course Curriculum Overview
Well there are plenty of reasons but choosing B.Com (Hons) as I was also pursuing CA and our college do provide free attendance for CA exams. Also, because our college was in morning and evening I had my CA classes and therefore it was easier for me to manage both.
Placement Experience
At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.
Fees and Financial Aid
TCSC and my relationship has ended as I graduated this year. The fees which I paid in my final year was 18000. Total of around 50000 is what I paid to graduate from here. Also, Maharashtra Government has laid done multiple scholarships and students of ST and EWS category literally can study for free.
Campus Life
Infrastructure ain't that great as one building and that too old. One playground is there and it is in the middle of residential area. So even fests like Tarangan is where students of other colleges are also invited. We also have an annual day celebration and is called Trishna. So, overall societies and all are good but infrastructure needs some more space.
Admission
Admission was on 12th score as cut-off for Maharashtra board students was 78% and for other boards if from Maharashtra it was 84%. For OMS (Outside Maharashtra) it was 88%. So I was in that 84 % bracket and made it just by edge as mine was 86%. Nearly 300 seats and over 30k students compete for that.
Faculty
At TCSC all B.com faculties are Phd and some CA are there. So their teaching because they have such heavy knowledge was also very heavy. Also, they pushed us to ask doubts and don't leave them until all are cleared. This went on for all three years and thus that is how I was able to clear Mumbai University tough exams with over 7 CGPA.
Night Life
Our college is in Thakur complex and both Thakur Village and Complex are amazing as we have everything for hangout in our area. Both indoor cricket and football turf are there. We also have two malls and along with all good chains that are there.
