Iit Hyderabad mechanical engineering

College is around 15 km away from patancheru where many industries are located. So we frequently face very bad odour from factories. Though we have complained several times no action is taken till now.

I think this course (mechanical engineering ) is suitable for one who is interested in research rather than getting placed after btech. In each semester we have 3 exam slots at regular intervals. There is no specific pattern for the exam. Here we follow fractal academics and hence there is complete freedom for the course instructor to conduct exam in whatever the way he /she wants. That means it is up to the instructor whether to conduct one final test or around 3 exams or exam pattern and also the weightage of exams is completely decided by instructors.

Job opportunities for mechanical engineering students are not that good. Only about half of the students are getting placed every year from our branch. Also the college does not disclose information about packages secured by students. College does not have to provide internships for outsiders but students from this college can do research internships under lecturers with no or little stipend.

Many events are celebrated in college throughout the year but the biggest one is elan and envision college college fest in which students from others colleges do come and participate in several activities along with us. Some other events are Rang de mach, Freshers day, DJ and ice cream night etc

It is expensive. Around 1 lakh 40 thousand per semester. Also there is decrement of fee based pn caste and parent annual income. Students of SC / ST caste need not pay tuition fee which is 1 lakh. For OC and OBC students decrement of fee is based on parent annual income.

College provides loan if opted by student for either half fee( excluding hostel fee) or full fee. Rate of interest for loans is decided by the annual income of the student parents. One can apply for loan in sbi bank present in college itself.

Right now college is under construction so group is not sufficient for all the sports. But we do have cricket ground, football ground amd and hockey. Labs in iit Hyderabad are very good. Apart from academic labs we also have a lab called tinkerers lab near hostels where any interested guy can approach it on his personal interest and learn stuff there and can work on projects.

No doubt, Iit Hyderabad has the one of the best hotels in Indian colleges. One room is alloted for each student with a cup board, study table and a cot in it. Also there is one bathroom in each pod (8 rooms make a pod). One can use either stairs or lift in hostel blocks.

Yes they are helpful. Several meetings are conducted with college alumni. Seniors are very much helpful for new comers.Some seniors volunteerly become mentors for upcoming students after taking around 1 week training and help new comers make feel familiar with the college.

I have qualified jee mains and then attempted jee advanced and secured AIR 5584. I have put several iits in my preference order and after seven rounds I confirmed my seat at iit Hyderabad mechanical and aerospace engineering.

The faculty at iit Hyderabad is very good. Everyone has pursued phd at some reputed institutions/ Universities. Most of the faculty follow open door policy. That means they are available to help students even after their working hours.
