If your plan is to get placement then this is a good college where you can groom your personality by participating in different activities but if you are thinking of doing research work or doing higher studies then this won't be a good choice for you.

Course curriculum is not updated since years. There are specific credits for every subject and that credit depends upon the importance of that subject in your branch. Lab is of two credit and for theory paper credit varies from 3 to 4. From your first year emphasis is given on the core subjects of your branch so by second year you will have a thorogh knowledge about your branch. Apart from the course you have to participate in other extra curricular activities to enhance your knowledge further there are many technical clubs which are source of knowledge. Exams are conducted twice a semester. Mid term is of 30 marks and end semester is of 50 marks and rest 20 marks are reserved for assignment and test conducted by Professor and it solely depends upon teacher. Semester grade point depends upon the credit of subject.

Placement of college is extremely good. If you are average student then also you can get placed with a good package. I have seen many seniors getting placed even with 6 pointers. Average package is around five lacks. College doesn't invites TCS for placement. If you are pursuing CSE or ECE then you can get paid internships in third year as many companies such as Amazon do visit college but for core branches there is less chance of getting paid internships.

Urja :Sports meet is celebrated every year in college and Urja is the name given to this sport meet. Students of all the branches compete against each other in different sports event ranging from athletics to badminton, table tennis and cricket. Culfest:Cultural festival is conducted every year in month of February and this is three day fest which has Bolly Nite in which different celebrities are invited and during day time students from various other colleges participate in the events. Ojass : This is eastern India's second largest Techno Management Fest. Cash Prize is given to winners of the events of fest. There are more than hundreds of event and total cash prize is worth 22 lakhs. Apart from this events there are many other events conducted by the Departments and other lit societies.

Fee structure depends upon the family income of your parents. If your parents are earning less than a lakh annually and you can get full fee waiver and you will have to pay 41500 as fees per semester, if your income is between 1 to 5 lakh then you will have to pay 62334 R's per semester and if your parents income is greater than 5 lakh then you will have to pay 1,04,000as fees for a semester.

If you are from civil branch and if your rank is less than 4 then you can avail OP Jindal scholarship. Tata Cummins gives scholarship to the students of Nit Jamshedpur every year but for that you will have to qualify the written test and personal interview conducted by Tata Cummins. Loan can be easily availed from the State Bank of India Nit Jamshedpur.

There are many clubs such as Literary and Debating Society, ,Quinite , Beat Breakers in which you can get inducted. There are many technical clubs which make cars and RC planes and participate in various National and International events and there are sports club too.

Hostel Infrastructure is superb. From second year everyone is allotted single room and there is a big washroom consisting of five for every 18 rooms and there is four lift and eight staircase in every hostel.

Seniors are very helpful here. At starting you may find it little scary to interact with them but sooner you will find that they are the ones who will induct you in various clubs and help you learn many things and guide you about the placement procedure. There is a society called as Industry and Alumini Relations which maintains relationship and contact with Alumini.

Admission is done through Josaa, counseling is done and there are seven rounds and seat is allotted in consecutive round and further there is special round which is conducted by CSAB. Once a seat is allotted then you can visit the college according to the schedule and take admission.

Faculty of the college can be rated as average. They are regular to class. Some of them are honest towards their work but some of them completely neglect it. Till now in four semesters I met some professor who are really dedicated towards teaching and ready to teach in any adverse teachers but some of them not even came to take classes.
