Sathyabama - A college meant for food

There is no ragging in the campus. You can roam freely without any problems. The college can conduct more cultural events and promote sports to a better extent than now. One more thing is that the college hours are only from 8am to 3pm, which is less compared to other colleges.

The course curriculum is good and comparably equal with other colleges in Tamilnadu. In the first year, all the subjects are common. Only from second year the subjects are different for different departments. So the curriculum depends on the department. And a semester consists of 2 internal exams and an external exam, in which the internal exam is of 50 Marks, taken an average of both and converted to 40 and 10 for attendance. The semester exam consists of 100 marks converted to 50, and added with the internal marks gives the total score.

This college doesn't offer super dream companies. But the highest paid package was Rs. 18 Lacs per annum followed by 16Lacs per annum. The average package is 3.75Lacs per annum. The college doesn't offer internship, but provides professional training which can be shown as internships in college.

There are no major events in the campus, except one cultural event and one sports meet every year. But both the events are celebrated very grandly. Sathyabama doesn't have many events like other colleges.

The fee structure is feasible. The highest fees is 250000 for CSE department. So it's affordable for everyone. And even the hostel is quite cheap compared to other colleges. It costs 60000 for Non AC and 175000 for AC with 4 persons per room for NonAC and 3 persons per room for AC. And the food is completely free for dayscholars and hostellers. They provide both Veg and Non Veg on all days, except Friday and Saturday.

The college doesn't provide any loan facility, but it provides scholarship for students who get the top 100 ranks in the entrance exam conducted by the college. The top 25 ranks get free fees. 25 to 50 ranks get 50% waiver and the remaining 50 get 25% waiver.

Many workshops are conducted throughout the year on various topics like IOT, Ethical hacking, AI, ML, Etc,. Sports are not given much importance, except for a sports meet every year. Lab classes are conducted based on the curriculum.

The hostel is quite cheap compared to other colleges. It costs 60000 for Non AC and 175000 for AC with 4 persons per room for NonAC and 3 persons per room for AC. The quality of room is average and cleaning is done everyday. The hostel food is also very good.

Seniors are very helpful in telling us about the placements and various other areas. I'm not much aware about the alumni network in the college. Seniors support us in each and every way possible by them.

I directly approached the college and asked for CSE department. They asked for a initial payment of 10000Rs to block my seat. After a week, I joined the college and paid the remaining fees. I was also trying in SRM KTR for CSE, but couldn't get admission due to various reasons. So I secured a seat in Sathyabama for a safer side and finally joined the classes 3 weeks after the commencement.

The faculty are really good. Most of them have completed Doctorate. The quality of teaching is also good. They give extra questions from outside source to help students prepare better for their exams and score better.
