Review about RGIPT

College campus is highly attractive and Activities those are organized in RGIPT, do overall development of a student. And Important thing, If you are having qualities, Sports, Academics, Soft skills. You will get placement because every type of company visits the college for placement.

Course Curriculum provided by RGIPT for Petroleum Engineering contains every aspect of the Petroleum Industry, Every Semester is having 6 to 7 courses, in which domain knowledge of Oil and Gas industry, Exploration and Production of Oil and Gas, apart that Courses on Energy Economics and Renewable Energy also. There is two major exams conduct in every semester aparr than quizzes and assignments. One is Mid-sem at the mid of the semester having weightage around 30% to 40% and End-sem at the end of the semester having weightage up to 50%.

Placements at RGIPT is around 60-70% in both branches, I am not talking about MBA. PSUs and Private companies both participates in campus placements. Average annual package is around 6 to 7 lakhs. RGIPT provides internships in 3rd year, and many big sectors and companies provides internship through our campus. Major PSUs and Private firms provide internships and Every student participate in this program. College interns don't get stipend but some students, those applies other than college internships get stipends some times. I did my internship form ONGC Bokaro, as college provided this internship, so I didn't get any stipend but the overall intern experience was good.

There are many events celebrated in RGIPT. As there are many chapters of different societies, funded by those organizations and college also. Like SPE, IIChe, AAPG, EAGE etc. organizes different events and quizzes based on industry and current events. There are many different fest celebrated every academic year. Cultural Fest - Kaltaranang Sports Fest - Energia Tech. Fest - Urjotsav Apart from these regular fest, there are many events organized by college on some special occasions, like on 15th August, 26th January, Yoga Day, Marathons on unity day, different festival celebrations.

As RGIPT is a government institute, fee structure is same as IITs, There is different fee structure according to reservation policy of government. As I belong to General category, the total fee of college is little bit expensive as it goes up to around 10 Lakh for complete 4 year graduation.

College provides different scholarship schemes, Merit cum and Merit means on the basis of perfomance basis of a student. And some scholarships also provide by some private industries and PSUs to economically weak students. Education loan is provided by banks situated in college at minimal interest rates. I didn't availed any scholarship from the college.

There are many extracurricular activities organized in RGIPT. Labs are equipped with latest industrial equipments and machines, well setup, and so spacious. Sports activities organized by students time to time and funded by college. Different intramural games, leagues organized by sports committee. Overall they are very good, provides physical as well as mental strength to students.

As the RGIPT is having newly well build campus, it is having top class hostel service, rooms are so spacious. There are separate cafeteria, TV rooms, Indoor Games halls, Outdoor Game courts, and different meeting rooms. Electricity and water is provided for 24/7. Washrooms are so clean. There are different types of rooms available in Hostel, with washroom and without washroom.

As our college is new and there is only 7 batches have been passed out till the date, and student strength not so high. So every alumni of college or senior student is connected through facebook, college pages and this year only 1st Alumni Meet took place and a Alumni committee is setup. Alumni network through this committee is providing financial help to economically weak students, also helping to make relation with industries. It is very helpful.

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology is an Institute of National Importance, started in 2008 takes admission from the merit list of IIT-JEE Advance Exam. RGIPT provides B.Tech. in Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering. So as in 2015, I got 18032 rank in JEE Advance Exam, I got Petroleum Engineering in RGIPT.

Faculty of RGIPT are highly qualified and some are regular faculty and some are visiting faculty having vast knowledge of industry. In fact director also takes classes on some courses. HODs of departments are having industrial knowledge as well as teaching experience of 20 to 25 years. In fact, faculty provides GATE material also for study.
