- In this college Thier is equal priority for both boys and girls in th collage
Course Curriculum Overview
JNTUK R20 curriculum covers core CSE subjects like DSA, DBMS, OS, CN, Java which helped me choose it for strong fundamentals. It prepares well for GATE and basic coding rounds but lacks current tools like Cloud, DevOps, GenAI. Two mid exams plus one semester exam each term, moderate difficulty with 85 to 90 percent pass rate. Improvements needed: add industry electives, more project based learning, and update labs with latest frameworks for real world readiness.
Internships Opportunities
College shares internship drives from 5th semester through TPO and APSSDC tie-ups. TCS iON, Wipro, and Infosys offer remote virtual internships with 0 stipend in web development and Python roles. Internshala and SmartBridge projects are promoted, 2 month programs, no stipend but certificate given. Eduskills with AICTE gives AWS Cloud Virtual Internship and Palo Alto Cybersecurity, both 10 weeks, 0 stipend, hands-on labs. Local startups in Kakinada like Efftronics and SriTech offered in-office roles for embedded systems and testing with 5000 to 8000 per month stipend for 3 to 6 months. Projects include building a student portal using HTML CSS JS, deploying static site on AWS S3, and firewall config simulation. Outcomes are basic exposure, resume value, and certificate, but limited real client work. Overall, internships help with learning and placements, though paid ones are few and most are virtual.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from 6th semester after CRT training. Companies visited: TCS 120 offers, Wipro 85 offers, Accenture 60 offers, Infosys 50 offers, Capgemini 40 offers, Tech Mahindra 30 offers, some startups 2 to 5 offers each. Highest package is 7.5 LPA by EPAM Systems for developer role. Average package is 3.8 to 4.2 LPA for associate engineer and analyst roles. About 65 to 70 percent of CSE students get placed through campus. Others go for off campus, higher studies, or GATE. My plan after degree is to join a service based company and upskill in cloud to switch later.
Fees and Financial Aid
Year-wise fees for CSE 2022-2026 batch at Ideal Tech under JNTUK: First year: Tuition fee 45000, admission fee 2500, registration fee 2500, caution deposit 5000 refundable, development fee 8000, lab fee 6000, CRT fee 4000, total around 73000. Second to fourth year: Tuition fee 45000, development fee 8000, lab fee 6000, CRT fee 4000, total around 63000 per year. Complete course fee for convenor quota is about 262000. Fees are stable with minor 2-3 percent hike yearly for new batches. Management quota batchmates pay around 85000 to 95000 per year tuition fee, total course fee 340000 to 380000. No extra caution fee difference. SC, ST students through convenor get full tuition fee reimbursement from Jagananna Vidya Deevena, they pay only admission, caution, lab, CRT charges around 18000 to 23000 yearly. BC, EBC, Minority get partial reimbursement up to 35000 yearly based on income. Scholarships available: Jagananna Vidya Deevena full fee reimbursement for eligible AP students with income below 2.5 lakh, Jagananna Vasathi Deevena 20000 per year for hostel and mess. Central sector merit scholarship 12000 per year, NSP merit cum means for minority 20000 to 30000 per year, Pragati scholarship for girls 50000 per year. College also gives 5000 to 10000 merit discount for top EAPCET rankers.
Campus Life
Campus life is active with decent social interaction and clubs. Annual cultural fest Vibrance is held in February and tech fest Technotsav in September. Library has 20000 plus books, JNTUK e-journals, DELNET access, and a digital section open till 6 pm. Classrooms have projectors, some smart boards, and Wi-Fi for presentations. Sports include cricket, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and a gym. Regular inter-branch tournaments happen. NSS unit and student-run coding club, cultural club, and photography club keep students engaged. Clubs help with networking, skill building, and event management. Canteen and green spaces make hangouts good. Infrastructure supports academics and activities, though more indoor sports area would help.
Hostel Facilities
College has separate boys and girls hostels inside campus. Rooms are 3 or 4 sharing with cot, study table, chair, cupboard, fan, and common washrooms on each floor. Wi-Fi is available but speed varies. 24/7 water, hot water in morning, and basic security. Meal quality is average. Menu repeats weekly: rice, curry, sambar, chapati, eggs twice a week, chicken on Sunday. Taste is manageable but not restaurant level. Breakfast is idli/dosa/upma rotation. Registration is during admission at the admin block with fee payment, allotment on first-come basis. Hostel fee is around 65000 to 70000 per year including mess, which is affordable compared to private PGs in Kakinada city. For rented options, most students take PGs in Ramanayyapeta or Gandhinagar, 5 to 7 km from college. Rent is 4000 to 6000 per month for shared room with food. Locality is safe with shops and buses. Overall hostel is okay for convenience and cost, but food and privacy can be cons.
Admission
I applied to Aditya Engineering College, Pragati Engineering College, and Ideal Institute of Technology. Got confirmed admission in Pragati and Ideal through AP EAPCET. Chose Ideal Tech because it is in Kakinada with good bus connectivity, lower fees compared to Aditya, and decent CSE placements. Missed Aditya due to higher cutoff for CSE, my EAPCET rank was 28000 while Aditya closed around 18000 for general. Admission process at Ideal Tech is through AP EAPCET counseling and management quota. Eligibility is 10+2 with MPC, 45 percent marks. Accepted exams: AP EAPCET is most preferred, JEE Mains also accepted. 2022 CSE cutoff for general was 15000 to 35000 rank, BC 40000 to 55000, SC ST 90000 plus. Counseling was online, document verification at center, then seat allotment. Process was smooth, staff guided well, joined within 2 weeks of allotment.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is about 1:20. Most faculty are approachable for doubts and projects. CSE staff teach well in DSA and Java. Course has 2 mid exams and 1 sem exam per semester. Exams are moderate, 10-15% fail without prep. Curriculum builds basics but needs more new tech.
Interview Experience
For my http://B.Tech admission, there was no Group Discussion or separate college interview. Admission was fully through AP EAMCET 2022 rank. The main criteria were 10+2 with PCM, minimum 45% for general category, and a valid EAMCET score. The process was: 1. Write AP EAMCET exam which had 160 MCQs from Maths, Physics, Chemistry, 3 hours duration. 2. After results, attend online counselling, fill college options based on rank. 3. If allotted, report to the college with documents for verification and fee payment. There was no written test by the college itself. Topics for EAMCET were NCERT 11th and 12th syllabus. I prepared using previous year EAMCET papers, mock tests, and Telugu Academy books. For me, rank and reservation category decided the seat. No GD or interview rounds were conducted for http://B.Tech regular admission.
Night Life
Nightlife around campus is calm since Kakinada is not a metro and college is on the outskirts. Gym closes by 6:30 pm, library by 6 pm, cafeteria by 7 pm, and most public areas shut after classes. Hostel in time is 7 pm for girls and 9 pm for boys, campus gates close by 9:30 pm so late movement is limited. Inside campus, students hangout at the canteen, garden benches, and sports ground till evening. Outside, popular spots are Rama Rao Peta food street, Vivekananda Park beach road, and cafes near JNTUK for weekends. The locality is generally safe till 9 pm with street lights and traffic, but it gets quiet after 10 pm so groups are advised. Late-night activities are mostly hostel room chats, gaming, or movie nights. These small unwinds help bond with friends and balance study stress.
