One of the best college

It is one of the best college in India. It has all kinds of facilities which are state of the art. You can enjoy the most of your life in the campus of IIT Kanpur. Freedom in the campus is the biggest advantage of this college. It has no in time, you can go wherever you want whenever you want.

Course curriculum is very vast and includes courses from other branches also. First year is common for all branches with subjects from all the branches. Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) subjects are also compulsory which we have to do minimum 5 to get graduated. There is a lot of academic flexibility. You can take up any subject you want if you are interested. There are lot of department electives and open electives also. Grades are given according to marks in quizzes, assignments, mid-semester exam and end-semester exam. Number of quizzes and assignments depends on the professor of the subject.

Last year, IIT Kanpur has best placement from all engineering colleges in India. Lot of big names like Microsoft, Facebook, oracle come and very high packages are offered. My college provides internship also. I haven't been on one as I joined college last year only but I have heard that seniors get stipend up to 1-1.5 lakhs also in the summer.

There are a lot of events in my college. There are 3 fests. Udghosh, the sports fest, Antaragni, the cultural fest and Techkriti, the tech fest. Lots of other colleges participate in the fests and they are really grand. Also, inter-hostel competitions are organized. Some festival celebrations are also taken place.

Fees for general people is around 2.5 lakh per annum but people who have less family income get a lot of fee waiver on producing valid income certificate and some scholarships are also given to poor kids.

Merit-cum-means scholarship is provided to students whose parental income is less than 5 lakhs. There is SBI and UBI inside the campus which provide educational loans. Counselling services gives student benovelence fund to children who cannot get any other scholarship but are in need

Extracurricular are extremely good. We have courts of nearly all major sports. There are all kinds of labs. There is club for everything you want like dance, drama, music, films, Rubik's cube, hindi sahitya sabha, english literary Society, anime and many more. All the facilities are state of the art.

Hostels for 1-3 years have double or triple rooms. 4th years get a single room hostel. Hostel has washing machines, basketball court, table tennis, volleyball court, badminton court, a pretty good mess, really nice canteen, very high speed internet access. Area of hostel is very large. Barber shops, general store and stationary is also there inside every Hall.

Seniors are really helpful and alumni network is very strong with people like Narayan Murthy. We can get any kind of guidance from the seniors. Seniors are in every field like civil services, jobs, cultural activities like film making, startups, higher studies. So, it is very easy to gain knowledge about any field.

Firstly, I had to clear JEE Mains and then students who cleared JEE Mains gave JEE Advanced and admission was based on the rank of JEE Advanced. Also, 75% in 12th board Or top 20 percentile in 12the board was compulsory for admission in IIT.

Faculty of my college is really hardworking and knowledgeable. They are true experts in their respective fields. In matter of teaching, everyone has different techniques, some use board, some use slides but they are really helpful.
