College review

The college is good average. Faculties are good. A perfect place for studies. Inside the campus, the environment is student friendly. There are no disturbances inside the campus. Now a days, the security has been also increased. Everything is good. But at some points, I'm unsatisfied with it. They are- There are no opportunities of jobs, placements or interviews, no opportunities of internships provided by the college. Some faculties are very bad tempered and excessively strict. If these problems can be removed one day, the college will be the best college in the region.

Curriculum course is good, the college is affiliated to University of Calcutta. The college follows only the university courses and exam structure strictly. Most of the common courses are available here like physics, chemistry, mathematics, bengali, English, microbiology, zoology, sociology, physiology etc. Both honours and general courses also available for studies.

No. No placement or jobs are occured from the college. Also no internship is provided by the college. I have to find jobs, interviews, internships by my own. This is one of the major disadvantages for the college.

There are so many events celebrated in our college. 1st of all, freshers welcome party, one from the union cell, one from the department. Secondly, some companies or organisations come here and celebrates some events like fashion shows, quiz, singing, games, sports etc. Teachers day is also celebrated. At the end of every year, the college Fest, called 'NEXUS' is arranged. It is a great fest. So many events are celebrated then. Dancing, singing, cooking, treasure hunt, games, rangoli, wall painting, carrom, cricket, football, badminton etc. Other colleges also can participate in it. And the most famous is the guest performance in the last day of the fest. Celebrities come to perform here on that day.

The fees structure is moderate. Not too much expensive or too much cheap. I had to pay almost 6000 INR for 1st year admission. And the fees become 2000/- more on the next year. Almost 8000 INR has been paid for the 2nd year admission. And I'm expecting that this amount will increase in this year, 3rd year.

Some scholarships are offered by the college. But actually its not provided by the college itself, rather the West Bengal Vikash Bhawan scholarship board provides the scholarship for the students who have scored at least 60% marks in their University exams.

Extra curricular activities are good in condition. Every department that requires a laboratory works, it has. And the laboratories are large enough so that more number of students can work together without any problem. In case of sports, there are a big play ground inside the campus. Cricket, football and many types of sports kit are available. In common rooms, there are some indoor games facilities like carrom, table tennis, 8 ball pool etc.

Yes. Senior students are helpful and interactive. They guide their juniors in admission, studies, living etc. Their valuable feedbacks are important all time to the juniors. They are helpful also in case of any problem for a junior student.

At 1st, after the result of 10+2 board, I had to look into the college website to apply online. After filling up forms, the application fees was given to them. After publishing of merit list, I was called for counselling. I went the college to attend it and a sorted list was generated after the counselling. I had to follow the college website, looking for the admission date. On the admission date, I had to go to the college and submit the forms with fees.

Most of the College faculties are good. They are helpful, sympathetic and kind hearted to students. But very few of the teachers are bad-tempered. They only do what they want or understand. They are not student-friendly.
