Remarks

Life in college is not entirely smooth. While we have most facilities and amenities, ther still lies some everyday problems. Semester exams are quite tough and pre semester days are worth remembering.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is different unlike any other undergraduate course. It is a blend of theory and practical knowledge that you require in our field. The semester exams are not the main exam. Every year you have to clear a final exam which is also called the Prof exam.

Placement Experience

4.5

In our medical field, there is no such on campus placements. After our 4.5 years study, we have an 1 year internship which is a must for us to get the M.B.B.S. degree. In this year, we get a monthly stipend of 25000 rupees.

College Events

4.5

There are many events taking place in our college every year. We have our main program, i.e., our annual cultural fest IMPULSE which takes place in September every year. Also there is a freshers welcome program which goes by the name ANASTOMOSIS. Other than that, we celebrate our college FOUNDATION DAY and another program by the name SWABHIMAN.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure in any government medical college throughout West Bengal is not expensive at all. We have a semester fee of 4500 rupees and hostel fee of minimal 72 rupees. Other than that some expenses are there on books, instruments and dress.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility is obviously available since our course is also very less. Also many students receive scholarship every year based on their economic status. Those who have low per capita income level are helped by government with annual scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

There are huge scope for extracurricular activities. There are different sport events and tournaments taking place- both at intra college and inter college level. Other activities like quiz, drama, singing, dancing also take place at regular intervals.

Hostel Facilities

4

I have indeed opted for hostel since the very beginning. It has a friendly environment and seniors were interactive and co-operative. The infrastructure is quite good and all accommodation facilities are provided.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very much helpful, interactive and co-operative. They helped us from the very beginning and made us comfortable with this tough syllabus and course. Alumni network is good and seniors or teachers who are in other colleges help us in many different ways.

Admission

Through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination- Medical (WBJEE-M) in 2015. There are 4 online counseling where you have to participate and as per your rank, you get the college of your choice. Now you can get admitted via NEET-UG exam.

Faculty

4

Faculties are very good and they try their very best to help us understand the concepts of the subject. They are indeed helpful and very knowledgeable. Most of them are renowned clinicians in their respective branches.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
