Remarks
Positive remarks: The college has a very supportive teaching staff which is ready to help students in every aspect. The training and placement cell is quite good as it prepares students for different companies by conducting boot camps , special lectures, etc. Negative Remarks: There are not enough working equipments in my department and RTU exams are checked in a very bad manner by RTU staff themselves. Also the campus is quite small.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is too outdated in RTU affiliated colleges. Anyone can prepare for them by looking for questions that came in last 4 years and still can pass the exam. The maximum marks are 80 for 5 questions each of 16 marks. There are internal choices in each question. Passing marks are 26. The checking of the answer sheet of particular subject is done by any faculty teaching that subject in any RTU affiliated college. But still the checking process is way too haphazard. Sometimes they fail good students in main exams and they have to pay 500 per subject for reevaluation. Now from the past two years the curriculum has changed for my juniors. The new pattern can help in maintaining the respect of a B.tech degree as now questions are more logic based than theory.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities are provided by our Training and Placement Office. The in-charge of our TPO is Mrs. Dipti Lodha ma'am who has good network with many hiring companies. More than 100 companies(both technical and non-technical) visit our college for hiring students. Most of the students who are eligible get placed in IT service companies like TCS,Infosys, etc. Other companies like Pinnacle,Tech Mahindra, Byjus also come for campus placement. Right now my college doesn't provide any internship. Still there are many workshops and seminars that are conducted in the college to teach students things that are not in RTU syllabus but are helpful for them in future.
College Events
My college PCE is a part of four colleges of Poornima Group of Colleges. So there are different fests of individual colleges, individual department and some include every college of PGC. Technical fests like AADHAR happens once a year, AAROHAN is fest with all sorts of events like technical, cultural, etc. On last day of AAROHAN happens DJ night where some famous singing artist is called for a concert. Cultural events like KALANIDHI also happen. The hostel fests are separate from these fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of all RTU colleges is same. There my college also has same fee structure as per RTU. It is quite feasible. The TFWS candidates like me who were good in academics till 12th also get special scholarship. General seats cost about 78000-82000 per year but TFWS candidates have to pay 29500 per year only. There are only few TFWS seats in each department.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no special programs for students that are specially conducted by our college as fee structure is uniform for all RTU affiliated colleges. There are few TFWS seats in each department that are quite feasible but are only for students who are good in academics. Each year the student with highest percentage in all departments is rewarded ? 6000 and runner up ? 2000.
Campus Life
The extracurricular activities usually happen during our college fests but still the workshops and seminars on different topics are conducted time to time. The labs have kits and equipments that are old and some of them dont even work well. Still the college maintains its reputation for good lab culture. The college has only 2 volleyball courts for all students and basketball court only for hostelers.
Alumni/Alumna
The college has a special department to deal with alumni known as PAA (Poornima Alumini Association) which has details of all their Alumini. They even contact them to visit in college in their free time so that they can guide students about the culture in industries at present times. The seniors are quite helpful especially the ones living in hostel due to their huge network.
Admission
Earlier I got admission in CTAE, Udaipur. My father was not impressed by the hostel environment of that college. So we came back to our hometown Jaipur and went for admission in Poornima College with my dad's friend whose son's admission was also to be done there. They were impressed by my performance in JEE Mains examination so they gave me direct admission.
Faculty
The faculty of my college is quite good. The teaching staff knows their subject very well and have a nice manner of explaing every topic. They are quite friendly and supportive in nature and have a good knowledge of present technologies in the market. They guide students according to their goals.
