Remarks

Elections are the negativity here. You would find mass campaign around 5-6 months a year. Political party are largely involved in college elections and make it really worst and ugly. Elections are mostly cancelled.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is very well drafted, the only drawback being that the books are not updated on a frequent basis. The three year course of bachelor degree is divided into 6 semesters of 3 paper each.

Placement Experience

3

Recently the college has started to organise campus selection. A few itt companies do come but the pay is very less. The college needs to promote on it’s education and placement wing. I have never tried for the campus selection.

College Events

4.5

Farewell and freshers are the key events of the college, special the commerce department. They organise both these events in some 3 star or 4 star hotel. Other than this, ganesh puja is even celebrated

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is almost negligible. Hardly 10000 for complete 3 years course. Admission fee is around 2500 and they take a small fee for registration inton second and third year and exam fee. Their is no monthly tuition charges

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan they don’t provide. A handful no. Of scholarship programs are their, but it requires a proper documentation process to become elegible for the scholarship program. It range around 5-10k per year.

Campus Life

4

There is large ground on the backside of the college. Regular cricket and football tournament are held. Beside it theirs a chemistry lab. The lab and playground is well maintained and kept clean. But their is no grass.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I didn’t opt for hostel. Their are 3 hostel and they are well built. But you would come to hear about nasty incidents taking inside the hostel. The food provided is really poor and it becomes difficult to adjust

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the seniors are very helpful. There isan alumni program and that hardly works. But seniors play an vital role; they help the newcomers to cope up with the situation really well. Overall the college is really good.

Admission

The admission process is based on the procedure prescribed by the Odisha Government. The entire process of form fillup and submission is online and is available on the site dhe odisha. Based upon your merit selection list is rolled out on pre determined time lines and the student has to take the admission there after.

Faculty

3.5

Their is an urgent requirement of change in faculty. The faculty are quite outdated and have least idea of the ongoing matters. Youngsters should be given a chance to be the faculty of the college. That would help in keeping the interest of the students alive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of B.Com under Sambalpur University covers important subjects like Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Management and Taxation which are essential for future studies and careers in finance or commerce. The structure is simple to follow and helps students build a good base in theory. Semester exams are conducted on time and the difficulty level is moderate. A student who consistently studies can score well without extreme pressure. However, there is a lack of practical exposure such as industry visits, internships or real-world business case studies. Also, subjects related to modern digital business trends like data analytics, advanced Excel, and GST practicals should be included to make students more job-ready. Overall, the curriculum is relevant but needs more updates to match the current professional requirements

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
