If you are in Gujarat and want to do mechanical engineering from local college, there is no place better than BVM. Once you enter the college , it has its own charm and way of living which moulds you towards better future and and a great entrepreneur.
Course Curriculum Overview
The e curriculum was good but needed some improvement but tht has been done after my batch passed. There was 3 basic parts of exam Mid- semester exam End- semester exam and Subject wise interview or viva The result is combined of all three facets of the exam.
Placement Experience
I got placed in campus interview itself and almost all branches had above 50% placement. All major companies visit our college be it RELIANCE, L&T infrastructure, INFOCHIP, TCS, GSFC, GNFC, LINDE, L&T technologies.
College Events
Every year my college have two major function organised in the campus itself. 1- UDAAN- techfest 2- Pratham- tech+nontech festival I have participated and also won an event in Pratham. In Pratham we had a technical quiz in first round then a technical model making compitition and then in third round an expert interview and model explaination.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is government based college so fee is very low. A person admitted on government seat will have to pay 10,000 INR per year only. It has also a self financed seats also which costs around 1,00,000 INR per year. Apart from this, it also has some scholarship programs running in the college itself in which you can enroll provided you fulfill the criteria and get scholarship, which will lower your fee burden.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't availed any scholarship offered by my college. But I have availed a scholarship from MHRD dept. of India. Which gives 10,000 INR per year provided you have above 65% marks in every year. my college have collaboration with local industrial organisation to provide various scholarships as well.
Campus Life
We are the oldest engineering College in Gujarat established in 1948 by sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and inaugurated by Lord Mount Batton. So lab contains very old equipments and also new equipments so you can learn both old technology and new technology as well. A big sports ground opposite out college campus serves the purpose of sports enthusiasts like me which has FOOTBALL ground and a cricket pitch as well.
Hostel Facilities
The college is 15km far from my home so I haven't opted for hostel, so I was commuting daily for my lectures. But there is hostel facility for students. We have two hostels for boys which located just beside our college campus, so it is walking distance. And a girls hostel is also nearby
Alumni/Alumna
My college alumni is very helpful and also to a very extent powerful as well. Once a bvmite alwyas a bvmite is the slogan for our college. The head of L&T engineering is an alumnus of BVM and also SUZLON has BVM alumnus in their top management. Not to mention in the local industry BVMite is also present in large numbers.
Admission
In Gujarat there is a body called ACPC which governs the admission process in all College which comes under UGC and Gujarat state. After enrollment on that site you have to fill in your choices of college and course. Based on your result and merit list you are given the seat in appropriate college and branch
Faculty
The most senior faculty for mechanical engineering can be found in my college. Various staff have had PhD and other were persuing PhD. And most of all staff have some industrial experience to tell and to 5each from that experience.
