Remarks

My campus in particular lacks infrastructure. The total area is less for a college to run. One cannot find a place to park his/her vehicle in or around the campus. The security aren't helpful in this matter either. However, students can socialize well with others and there is no issue on that. Overall, the campus is fun with fellow students, not with the college staffs

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Basic courses which were common across all departments were given during the first year. From second year onwards, courses related to the department were started. Level of difficulty of the courses increased every semester. Monthly cycle tests were conducted, the marks of which are counted as internal marks, summed up to 50. External exams are conduct at the end of each semester for 100 marks. 50% of the marks are added to the internal marks to present the final grade.

Placement Experience

3

The main recruiters are those IT companies who recruit in bulk numbers. The placement office literally forces everyone to take part in the tests conducted by these companies, despite having little to no knowledge about the IT field. The college had arranged placement training for this particular purpose. But, this wasn't sufficient since there was not much time.

College Events

2.5

Every department conducts symposiums each year. Each symposium has two events; technical and non-technical. Technical events are related to the department which conducts the event, while non-technical consists of various fun activities like cricket, football, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is pretty high since this is a private institution. Most of the students join after applying a student loan since the fees per year is above 2 lakhs. Books, Soft skill training are to be paid separately, along with optional transport fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship to students who have secured top 1000 rank in the entrance exam. The college also arranges banks to set up private booths during the admission process to facilitate student loan applications.

Campus Life

1.5

In the campus I'm presently studying, less emphasis is laid on the extracurricular activities. The space provided is far less, there are only 2 basketball courts. Students are found playing multiple matches in one court due to lack of space

Alumni/Alumna

During college days, you're expected to establish contact with senior students to know about the companies recruiting from the college and the demands presented by the companies. Also after they finish college, they're helpful in informing about the current trends in the outside world.

Admission

I had written SRMJEE, an entrance exam conducted by the college itself. After getting a rank in the entrance exam, I was allotted a date to present my documents for the admission process. Further documents were produced in the campus on enrollment day.

Faculty

3.5

There are some faculty members who explain each topic very well, while some are unable to explain it to the students, despite them having the subject knowledge. During projects, they are of little help. They do try to give various opinions, but they don't impact the project planning as much as you would expect.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Placement Experience:

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.
