Attendance is taken very seriously in NIT Surat so bunking classes have to be thought over very well i cant think of any other downsides about my college and because now that i have passed put from there it makes me want to go back and study there further

I took AIEEE which was the mandatory competitive exams for us at that time around 2011 and scored the cumulative score of 211 out of 340 i decided to take Mechanical Engineering as my stream because of my inclination towards automobiles and other gizmos related to mechanical over and above this NIT Surat is renowned for Mechanical Engineering.

I did my internship at tata motors through reference from one of my professors it helped me a lot for where i work currently giving me a good hands on experience with the technology being used there.

Placement is one of the top tiers out of any Institutes currently with 94% of may batch mates getting placed in good companies giving a good shot at the job opportunities for their further career.

There is tech fest called MINDBEND and the cultural fest called SPARSH well wht i can say is they are the biggest attractions in Gujarat if you have ever been there with immense publicity and wining prices luring students from all over Gujarat as well as other parts outside of Gujarat entrepreneurs and Celebrities are the main attractions making them one of the Must Visit Tech & Cultural Fests.

Hostel facilities are best you can ask for fees being average not burning a huge hole in your pocket and even affordable to lower class families mess food was kind of okay considering the fact the most of the students do not like mess food but to my surprise it was better than many other Mess facilities i have been to.i would rate hostels 4.5 on 5, mess food 4 on 5.

There are good bit of scholarships available for SC/ST and OBC students and for the general category too although i was only able to avail the scholarship during my first year. loans for students with weak financial conditions is available through SBI college branch.

Gender ratio of around 60 40 with no sorts of restrictions whatsoever between Guys and Girls extracurricular activities is one of the many things i like most about my college with different sports fests being organised now and then encouraging you to participate and compete at National level there are different associations of students for Tech crazies like Drishti for robotics, ACM for CS people, AISEC, Foreign Student Association for students outside of India, a cultural society called CHRD which organizes events every weeks to maintain a serene enviornment all the time.

There is a event organized every year for final year student with different Alumini invited so that students can interact with them and can get some useful guidelines regarding their Placement doubts future scope market demands or be it anything senior Students are very friendly and helpful ready to help and guide you any time your need be providing you with data necessary for you to excel through your college and corporate life.
