The teaching faculty is amazing, and so are the corporate partnerships of this school. The best part is the practical education that they focus on instead of the traditional education system. SSE is like the Ivy League school of the Nordics and its in-house business incubator, Stockholm School of Economics Business Lab is one of the best in the Nordics and has produced multiple unicorns.
Course Curriculum
The curriculum is very industry oriented and practical. Frequent guest lectures from top industrialists allow for a very open environment for interaction, learning, and networking. The course can be hectic but all Masters are similar in this manner.
Faculty
The faculty is renowned and super experienced. Finance faculty is involved in the industry actively making them not just educationalists but also corporate advisors and industry researchers.
Placement
SSE boasts a 90%+ recruitment statistic within 3 months of graduation. Rest either choose to go into research/Ph.D. or move to their home countries.
Accommodation
Since this is a business school and not a university, the housing is not like a university campus, but rather cluster housing. Sweden follows a very different style of housing management for students. There is something called SSSB a queuing system for student housing. In the 1st year, the college proactively helps with the accommodation in one of their leased housings.
Exams
GRE/GMAT- Strong quantitative skills, TOEFL/Any widely accepted English test- 100+ in TOEFL is good, Work experience- 1 year or more is required.
Events
Life in Sweden is very calm and peaceful, and so is campus life. For extracurricular, SSE organizes the Nobel Lecture every year and is one of the 4 schools to host the Nobel Cap - an evening gala for Nobel laureates. There are parties, networking events, and trips throughout the year.
Fees
150 000 SEK per year for the 2-year program.
Scholarship
While I didn't receive a scholarship, SSE offers a few- half and full-tuition scholarships.
