What Students Say
Likes
- I like that the faculty is so helpful at every stage.
Dislikes
- I dislike that the buildings are so far and spread out in the whole city.
I already have a masters in Education from back in India & have also read the papers of my professors, that was my main encouragement to interact with such intellectual people. I wanted to do a specialized master's program further so chose MSc Educational Leadership and Management which was my elective subject earlier and was one of my top-scoring subjects as well.
Course Curriculum
My course wasn't very research-oriented (apart from the assignments to be put together) but it's not like there is no future prospectus for that. I did a Junior Research Associate Apprenticeship at Halmstad University, all thanks to my university. Also, there are specific courses such as MRes that focus only on the research aspect.
Faculty
The class contains at least 2 lectures to at the max 30 students. The professors are quite approachable via mail and even face-to-face. Dr. Angeline Dharmaraj Savicks has left an incredible impact on me.
Campus Life
There are many societies. I have personally joined the Indian society and the book club. The library is open 24 hours during the term time, which is really helpful. The EduRoam WiFi works almost everywhere. It is a surreal experience.
Placement
Although my course ends on the 20th of September, I have started applying for jobs through various portals and the University Careers board and have received interview invites. Recently, I cleared an interview for Careers Advisor for United Learning Trust. So I am quite new to this but I can guarantee the average package to be £24k.
Accommodation
I stayed in the student accommodation for 4 months, it was very well maintained but costed £700 per month (to be paid in lump-sum). I then moved to a house share, which is very common (£550 pcm) for 2 months and is now living in a 2bhk apartment with my friends (£1606 pcm).
Exams
- My bachelor's degree was sufficient for my admission. - CBSE- 9.2 CGPA (10TH); CBSE- 80% (12TH)l; DU- B.COM HONS 69% (UG); JMI- MA EDUCATION 8.4 CGPA (PG) - Requirements: I had to submit everything and had an interview as well. Everything went smoothly but you just have to be true to yourself.
Fees
It was originally £19k but after scholarship, I had to pay £15,600 only.
