Admission Experience

  • It was always a dream of mine to go to the UK, and when this opportunity came, I chose to go. I enrolled in the Masters degree in Data Science course at Liverpool Hope University in Liverpool. The city was very lovely and since it was a Maritime city, the weather was always windy and cold.
  • The career opportunities in my field were limited at Liverpool but there were a lot of chances at London.
  • The campus was a lush green area. The faculty were very friendly and their teachings were great.
  • The students were very welcoming and lovely. Academics was surprisingly easy and I was able to score good marks.

Class Schedule

8

  • I have classes thrice a week from Wednesday to Friday. Each class was for an hour and there were mostly 2 to 3 classes in a day.
  • My course had more than 5 Indians. The average strength of the class was around 50.
  • For assignments, depending on the difficulty it took around a week. For self-study, I allocated 1 hour per day.

Faculty

9

The faculty members were kind and approachable. They were willing to answer all questions and doubts. They couldn't help with jobs but they're more than willing to give character references for future jobs.

Campus Life

9

  • The college had 3 campuses. It has a library, cafeteria, accommodation, laundry services, cafes, chapel, shuttle bus services, gym, and sports area.
  • A popular event was the Freshers fair where freshers were introduced to various clubs.

Part Time Jobs

  • Most Indian students preferred working at fast food joints, support workers, and teaching assistants.
  • It was relatively easy to get a part-time job since the university had a part-time job fair which was how I got my part-time job.
  • I enrolled with an agency that supplied staff to various schools. Typically the pay ranges from £70-£100 per day depending on the school. The job was of a teaching assistant at schools. Since I was a student, I was allowed to work only for 20 hours a week.

Placement

7

I opted to come back home to India, but the opportunities depend on the candidate’s talent and skills. Only if your skills are top-notch, companies will be willing to sponsor a visa else it falls on your head to apply for Post Study Work Visa.
