I was looking for research opportunities in human healthcare and then suddenly I found a Future 100 PhD studentship at the Institute of Precision Health & School of Engineering, University of Leicester. So I will say, I choose project rather than University. In terms of my experience, I am happy when it comes to research but as a University I think it was not good because it gave me a feeling like they are running it like a business, not as a university. They are charging you for each and every small thing. Admission requirements vary between departments and courses. I applied to around 12–13 colleges in the UK (some of which were in Northumbria, Hertfordshire, Salford, Birmingham, Roehampton, Kent, Bedfordshire, Plymouth, Coventry, and Brunel) and got admission from almost every one of them. My application was not rejected in any one of them. Only some colleges were asking for IELTS scores, which I did not have at the time. I chose this college because of its higher ranking when compared to other colleges i applied and this had almost the same tuition fee. The admissions process was very smooth and even if we had any issues, if raised by email, the college immediately responded and cleared up the concern the way we needed it. Once I accepted the offer, the college set us up with a pre-cas online questionnaire; after completion of that, everything else was taken care of. I didn't have any specific criteria for eligibility; scores from my schooling and undergrad were validated by the college. Overall, it was a very easy and smooth admission process. I applied to the September intake. My application stared in January and I got an offer around February. I paid my initial deposit in April and within a week, I was requested to complete the online questionnaire and was issued with my CAS shortly after.
