My original intention was to do an MBA at a credible University in India. However, during my quest to find a good university, I realized how inefficient the whole process was. Doing an MBA in India would require me to appear for CAT. On talking to my friends who had already attempted CAT, I understood that I would need almost a year to prepare for the exam. I did not want to commit so much time to my academics. At this exact moment, I saw a dramatic SP Jain Global ad which had great claims. My entire MBA journey pivoted at this point. I started considering an MBA from abroad. From here onwards, this is how how my journey looked: October 2024 SP Jain Global (Admitted, later withdrawn voluntarily to seek better options). December 2024 Coventry University, London (Shortlisted and received confirmed admission form, later withdrawn to seek a better option). Anglia Ruskin University (Shortlisted). King's College London (Rejected. Reason: lack of 3+ years of continuous work experience. January 2025 University of Greenwich (Admitted in April 2024 cohort) Choosing the right University was absolutely essential, as my entire career depended on it. In today's day and age, where marketing has become very personal, one cannot just rely on google to find the right university. This is why, before putting my money on a UK University, I conducted my own research, read reviews like the one I am writing currently, and connected with people through LinkedIn to draft the real picture. The website of SP Jain global seemed very promising to me with jaw-dropping graduate placements listed. However, on digging deeper, I found out that their UK campus was very newly opened and I would be a part of the first cohort. This did not inspire much confidence in me and I ultimately dropped the plan to study. However, I made up my mind to study in the UK. I knew London, being a financial hub of the world, would open up endless possibilities for me. I therefore started looking at other options. The first Universities that came to my mind were of the Russell Group (London School of Economics, King's College, Imperial College, UCL and a few others). Now surprisingly, some of these top Universities and in fact, most other Universities did not require GMAT or any other exam except IELTS for admission. However, what they need is 3+ years of work experience, which I did not have as a recent graduate. I started searching for the next best Universities and names like Greenwich, Anglia Ruskin, Cardiff and Coventry popped up. Thankfully, I am privileged enough to have a relative living in the UK who helped me apply to all these Universities. Responses from these Universities can be time-consuming, and in a bid to utilise this time, I did my IELTS preparation during this time. The minimum requirement in UK universities is IELTS 6.0 and I scored 7.5 in it. By January I received responses from Anglia Ruskin, Coventry and Greenwich. I rejected the former two because they did not align with my expectations. From my research, I found Coventry to be good for humanities and Anglia Ruskin had a lacklustre communication. I found Greenwich to align well with my expectations, as it had a proper business school within it. The Admission Process: To start with, I had to upload all my documents, which included a school passing certificate, a graduation certificate, an IELTS Result and a letter of recommendation from Professor. This took a week or two as they normally ask to make some changes. CAS is the most vital part in the admission process of a UK University. CAS is one's licence to study in the UK. And it can be challenging, as the UK Authorities not only check your academic background but your financial background as well. I had an interview with Greenwich Business School during this time. They verified my financial background to check if I could provide for myself in the UK. Finally, after a long haul of more than a month, they finally issued my CAS number, which allowed me to move to the VISA process. Regarding challenges, UKVI requires a bank statement showing an account balance of one year's living expenses parked in the bank account for at least 28 days. This can be challenging, as 14 lakh INR is not a small sum for most middle-class families. Documents need to be spanking clean, as any minute errors can result in a rejection of VISA. Finally, at the end of the process, there is a final interview taken by the UKVI through VFS Global before they issue a VISA. I had initially applied for the January intake; however, since formalities take time to be completed, I was moved to the April intake. Admission process can take as long as 3-4 months, subject to fluent communication, so it is always better to keep checking the admission dates and apply early to eligible for any bursaries or discounts. I applied for the following universities: University of East London University of Westminster University of Greenwich University of Leeds I got offer letters from all the universities and my application was not rejected at any university. Of all these universities, Greenwich is the one which has face-to-face interviews in order to issue the CAD for the students. As I hear, few people got rejected in that interview because of their lack of knowledge about the course and the University. I choose Greenwich over other just because of its ranking and affordable fee The admission process is simple. I applied to the university by June, Got the unconditional by that month itself. After I paid the fee, I got CAS in a week. Then I applied for a visa and got to uk by August. For English we need a B2 level in CEFR , A good score in English above 80 per cent in our HSC is fine to clear this. Our UG pass percentage should be above 75 to get an offer here. The overall admission process was so smooth without any hurdles. I applied for the September 2025 intake. i have finished my Ug in Mechanical engineering by 2023 and I will have work experience for about two years and then I want to do an MBA to uplift my career that why choose London and Greenwich university. I applied to three universities. I was admitted to all of them. This included the University of Kingston, the University of Greenwich and King's College London. I did not receive a rejection from any of the places I applied to, i.e., University of Kingston, University of Greenwich and/or King's College London. Greenwich had a compulsory placement module – 70 hours across 10 weeks. This was important, as I believed it helped me prepare myself for the real world and workplace settings. This was in addition to the fact that the curriculum was structured and in line with what I wanted to learn. My admission process was taken care of by an agency. However, the basic steps involved getting all my undergrad transcripts and certificates and letters of recommendation in order, appearing for the IELTS, etc. I just needed to appear for IELTS. The overall minimum score required was 6.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the sub-tests – Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking As my admission process was taken care of by an agency, I am not too sure I faced any difficulties. It seemed smooth to me. I applied for the September 2023 intake. I have already mentioned the factors influencing my decision in a previous question. I chose this intake because I wanted to start an MSc immediately after my BSc (which ended in July 2023). I believe it took a couple of months to get all the certificates, transcripts and other documents in line and ready for submission. I also appeared for my IELTS exam during this duration. I considered University rankings and opportunities and affordable fees . I have submitted all my educational documents to CollegeDunia and they took over the admission process. The university accepted my intermediate English marks. It was really good and at the same time, as a student, I had that fear in my head if I didn't get this but Collegedunia made it. I felt bad and disappointed about the scholarship I applied for, but I didn't get it. I applied for the Sep 2024 intake . And I started my process in April. The overall experience is quite good considering the quality of education as it is much more practical also it feels up to date with industry standards. Also some of the modules requires coursework which is more researched based which widens the knowledge and gives a student an opportunity to use the knowledge they received. In terms of placements, all the Universities lack these as they cannot provide the placement....Read More
