DGU Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech CSE FAQs
Ques. What is the advantage of doing the Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech at DGU instead of B.Tech followed by a separate M.Tech?
Ans. The integrated program saves approximately 1-1.5 years compared to doing B.Tech (4 years) and M.Tech (2 years) separately. Students complete both degrees in 5.5 years (10 semesters) instead of 6 years. Additionally, the M.Tech component (Semesters 9-10) is priced at Rs. 90,000 per semester, which is significantly lower than a standalone M.Tech program.
Ques. Can I exit the Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech program with just a B.Tech degree if I change my mind?
Ans. Yes, under NEP 2020 multiple exit options, students can exit with a Certificate (after Year 1), Diploma (after Year 2), or a full B.Tech degree (after Year 4 / Semester 8). If you exit after completing the B.Tech component, you will receive a B.Tech degree. You would need to re-enroll separately for M.Tech if you wish to complete it later.
Ques. What is the total cost of the Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech CSE program at DGU?
Ans. The total fee excluding hostel (but including Day Boarding for 2 years) is approximately Rs. 12,02,600. If you opt for hostel, the annual hostel cost ranges from Rs. 1,47,500 to Rs. 1,64,000 per year (for 5.5 years: approximately Rs. 8,11,250 to Rs. 9,02,000 additional).
Ques. Is the M.Tech component of this integrated program recognized separately?
Ans. Yes, upon successful completion of all 10 semesters (220 credits), students receive both a B.Tech degree and an M.Tech degree from DBS Global University, which is a recognized university under UGC. Both degrees are valid for employment and further academic pursuits.
Ques. What entrance exams are accepted for admission to the Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech program at DGU?
Ans. DGU accepts JEE Main scores (percentile 50+ with 50% in PCM for direct admission) and CUET UG scores (88+ percentile for interview exemption). Students can also appear for the DGU Admission Test (DGU-AT) conducted online at the time of the interview.
Ques. What career opportunities does the Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech CSE open up compared to a standalone B.Tech?
Ans. The M.Tech degree opens doors to senior technical roles, research positions, and academic careers that typically require a postgraduate qualification. Graduates are eligible for roles such as Senior Software Engineer, Research Scientist, ML Engineer, System Architect, and can also apply for PhD programs directly. The integrated degree also strengthens profiles for product-based companies that prefer postgraduate candidates for R&D roles.
