The Advanced Certificate in Power Distribution Management (ACPDM) is a 16-credit distance learning programme offered by the School of Engineering and Technology (SOET) at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Power, Government of India. With a minimum duration of 6 months (extendable up to 2 years), the programme is designed to upgrade the skills of professionals employed in electrical power utilities and the electricity sector, covering power distribution, energy management, IT applications, and management of power distribution systems. The total programme fee is Rs. 5,500 (plus applicable registration and development fees). The programme is open to engineering graduates, engineering diploma holders, and science/commerce/arts graduates with 2 years of experience in the power sector, making it a targeted professional development programme for the electricity industry.
The January 2026 admission cycle is currently open. The last date for fresh admission for Certificate programmes is extended to 30th March 2026. The July 2026 admission cycle is expected to open in May 2026, with a tentative last date in August 2026 (based on the previous year's schedule).
