CHRIST PhD English Fees

The PhD (English) programme at CHRIST University has a transparent and competitive fee structure. The annual fee is Rs. 80,000 for both full-time and part-time scholars. Full-time scholars receive a Research Fellowship that effectively offsets the annual fee. The thesis adjudication fee of Rs. 25,000 is payable at the time of thesis submission.

The Research Fellowship is paid from the month following successful completion of coursework (generally from the 7th month of the cohort) for a period of three years.
Scholars receiving UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, and other similar fellowships are not eligible for the CHRIST University Research Fellowship.
Annual scholarship of Rs. 20,000 and contingency allowance of Rs. 10,000/year (for up to 3 years post-coursework) are provided in addition to the fellowship.
Hostel facility is available on campus but is not mandatory.
Hostel fees are charged separately.

Eligibility Criteria

A pass with a minimum of 55% marks in the postgraduate programme (MA English or equivalent) from a recognised university.
Candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) may be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks requirement as per UGC norms.
Candidates who have completed their post-graduation from an international university must submit an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
