The MD (Pathology) programme at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), Chennai, is a 3-year full-time postgraduate medical degree offered by Sri Ramachandra Medical College (SRMC). Pathology is a para-clinical branch that bridges basic sciences and clinical medicine, encompassing histopathology, cytopathology, haematology, clinical pathology, immunopathology, and molecular pathology. The programme has a seat intake of 10 students (9 under the General/Indian quota and 1 under the NRI quota), and the tuition fee is Rs. 15,00,000 per year (Rs. 45,00,000 for the full 3-year course). Admission is entirely through NEET PG scores followed by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) counselling for deemed universities. MD Pathology graduates are in high demand in hospital laboratories, diagnostic centres, academic institutions, and research organisations. SRIHER, ranked 21st in NIRF 2025 (Medical category) and holding an A++ NAAC grade, provides an excellent environment for this programme with its two major teaching hospitals offering rich clinical material.

Admissions for the 2026-27 academic year will be based on NEET PG 2026 scores. NEET PG 2026 is tentatively scheduled for August 30, 2026. Following the declaration of results, MCC will conduct counselling for deemed university PG medical seats. Candidates are advised to monitor mcc.nic.in for official counselling schedules. The current academic year (2025-26) admissions have already been completed through MCC counselling.
