BHU B.P.Ed FAQs
Q1. What is the Physical Fitness Test for BHU B.P.Ed admission, and how should I prepare?
Ans. The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for BHU B.P.Ed is conducted by BHU at Varanasi only and includes components such as running, jumping, throwing, and other physical performance tests. Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks in the PFT to be considered for admission. Regular physical training, including running, strength exercises, and sports practice, is essential for preparation.
Q2. Is B.P.Ed at BHU a UG or PG level programme?
Ans. B.P.Ed at BHU is technically a Bachelor's degree (UG level), but it requires graduation as the minimum eligibility. This means it is a post-graduate entry programme. Admission is through CUET-PG (not CUET-UG). The programme is NCTE-recognised and qualifies graduates to teach physical education at the school level.
Q3. What is the difference between B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed at BHU?
Ans. B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) is a 2-year programme that requires graduation as eligibility and qualifies graduates to teach physical education at the school level (TGT/PGT). M.P.Ed (Master of Physical Education) is also a 2-year programme but requires B.P.Ed as eligibility and qualifies graduates for higher-level teaching positions and research. Both are offered by the same department at BHU.
Q4. Can I apply for BHU B.P.Ed if I have a B.P.Ed from another university?
Ans. No. B.P.Ed at BHU requires a Bachelor's degree in any discipline (not B.P.Ed) as the minimum eligibility. If you already have a B.P.Ed, you should apply for M.P.Ed at BHU instead.
Q5. What career options are available after B.P.Ed from BHU?
Ans. B.P.Ed graduates from BHU can pursue careers as Physical Education Teachers (TGT/PGT) in KVS, NVS, and state government schools, sports coaches in schools and academies, fitness trainers, and sports administrators. Many graduates also qualify for UGC-NET/JRF after completing M.P.Ed to pursue academic careers. The department reports over 80% placement for its graduates.
Q6. Is there a sports quota for B.P.Ed admission at BHU?
Ans. No. As per BHU's admission policy, no sports quota is available for B.P.Ed admissions. All admissions are based on CUET-PG scores and the Physical Fitness Test conducted by BHU.
